great example of a middle of the road "we did the bare minimum" type of game. the game works. it isnt inexcusably horrible and it certainly isnt good. it just exists. disappointing considering it had some potential.

the switching mechanic alongside the new level themes and special stages gives a new and interesting way to experience the game. mighty and ray coming back made me almost shit myself

one of the best sonics. props to christian whitehead, headcannon, and pagodawest for breathing some life back into this series. hopefully sega and sonic team learn from the success of this one.

got all of the achievements in the game, tried replaying it a couple of times a year or two later but it was really only fun on the first playthrough. the best part was the absolutely massive roster of characters

2/3s of the game is trash. the only reason people play this game is for the chao garden and if they tell you otherwise they are lying. soundtracks great though

sonic, tails, knuckles, and e-102 gamma all have solid stories and are fun to control but by god the amy and big levels are just trash huh. good lord. final story is kinda sick though and the game is fun to break and speedrun. oh and this game introduced crush 40 so points for that.
