I have played Genshin Impact on launch but not much after and I can say this gave me the same feels, in a good way. New world to explore, plenty of puzzles, chests and stuff to collect.
The story is lacking and is the weakest part of the game. Main story quest is so-so, I made it through because I simply wanted to know what the lore here is. The companion stories were nicer but the side quests are straight up unbearable, every single NPC takes you on a sightseeing cruise to yappersville, no return tickets. While the world seems interesting I just can’t sit through that dialogue to find out more about it which is a shame.
That said… the game is lots of fun, I absolutely LOVE the combat, it is a fresh take to add the dodge and parry abilities, the follow up attacks from the other party members feel satisfying and make it feel like they truly are fighting together.
I have not spent a single euro, the game will toss plenty resources your way from the beginning, there is even an event for a free guaranteed five star, but even without the five stars I haven’t had issue with getting through the game objectives.
As every gacha of this style however, you will hit the free to play wall where you have to wait for your “stamina” currency to recharge, which is usually where I drop the game, but it was surprising amount of fun while it lasted!
