A good attempt from a new studio but really lacks direction. Each aspect to a good video game is tried but never fully realised. The characters are great but provided terrible lines. The story starts off strong but becomes a confusing mess. The skill trees are there but lack variety. The open world is asking to be explored but provides lacklustre content at best. The magic based combat was the strong point but did not pair well with the enemies or core mechanics. Again a good attempt but doesn’t surpass your average game.

Super simple side scroller in the same vein as inside/limbo. The overall premise was refreshing, being a puppet trying to break free from its confines. I wish they used the strings in the puzzles more as that was an awesome use of design. Game was a bit janky and unpolished, and a bit too easy. A fair go from a small team however.

A pretty standard sequel for the 360 era. The story is thrown out the window for a more gameplay focused experience. I found playing the game on the hardest difficulty made it throughly more enjoyable. The sound was so funky with dialogue being so quiet but the explosions etc being so loud. This could not be altered and subtitles were not available. Looking back I think I enjoy the first army of two more.

What a lovely experience. A cute little adventure with so much heart and passion. The story is simple but very sweet and is accompanied by amazing controls and seamless free roaming gameplay. I enjoyed so much I put in the time to get every item and collectible just for an excuse not to leave.

Hokko life is pretty much a clone of animal crossing but with every aspect being worse. Starting off I had fun completing the requests and learning the mechanics but as soon as this is over the game does not offer much more. It’s placement controls are janky making it hard get into a grove. I’m not the biggest fan of this genre of game but had an okay time one evening.

Am inoffensive first person shooter with some cool time mechanics. Quite a short game with only 6 missions but each a very unique and appropriately themed location. A small array of guns makes changing it up unwanted specially once you fully upgrade the assault rifle. Game is missing much needed mechanics like a flash light and target lock. Also it doesn’t have subtitles which is strange when the game is in Russian accented English. I would recommend playing metro over this.

A very harmless walking simulator that doesn’t break the mould. It also isn’t memorable and the story is quite bland. I did like the artistic approach and it was a digestible size. Camera lock was a big issue and would happen regularly when moving around.

Going in blind this game surprised me. The cover gave it a sense of polish but on booting up it transported me back to my younger years. But not in a good way. The voice acting, graphics and overall gameplay was a slog. Sort of like a on rails shooter but allowing limited movement. There are a whopping 31 levels that don’t differ at all, albeit being quite short. On starting a recommend going into the settings and changing to cell shaded to get rid of a large portion of the uglies.

When starting the game I was worried was not for me. But as I plodded along through the first few levels, getting abilities/the hang of things I realised the fun to be had amongst the rhythmic melee gameplay. Pulling off deathless runs on a section felt rewarding and looked amazing. Once I had my fill the game ended nicely not overstaying it’s welcome.

Cute little puzzle game that try’s to focus on relaxation but falls flat due to the cursor being dreadful on the Xbox and some puzzles just so bizarre that you have to search. I would have preferred a style like unpacking which brought a more zen like feel.

Another game that plays straight out of the 360 days. The combat is like a simplified god of war but throwing annoying enemies at you in such a way that can get infuriating. After the first few chapters you are just fighting multiple mini bosses at the same time as they gangbang you. The story was woeful to the point of not being bothered to follow.

A refreshing take on the turn based game, adding a card somewhat straight forward deck builder. The game itself starts off very slow, but once you pick up on the mechanics and start making decks for your favourite marvel hero’s it becomes a joy. I did find towards the in between mission hangouts a drag towards the end but throughout really dug the friendship system. A good get for any marvel fan looking for a fresh challenge (blade is my guy!)

I’m not a child. But playing with a significant other just for the meme is great fun.

A very simple twin stick shooter with nothing special. The missions are forgettable, no voice acting, enemy designs down right lazy. But for all its short comings, the game was so much fun with a friend. Turn your brain off and just shoot. Also even though the bosses were terrible to look at, they were easily the most fun part.

A very accessible walking sim with fantastic writing and setting. The game makes you think about life a religion in a grand scale and uses emotional AI to portray the different perspectives of the human brain. The slowness of the character does diminish my want to finish on a different ending though.
