@Biggs_hoson hahaha telling people they're wrong isn't really my style, but good suggestion. You're probably right that I gave up too soon. Part of what was frustrating me was that I had so little money that to make any real changes I had to exit the mission entirely so I could sell stuff at the armory; I assume that's less of a problem when you build up a nice inventory of parts. But I got really sick of replaying the mission and the tension of "is it worth replaying the mission just to experiment with a different combination from my limited options" just wasn't fun for me. And like I said a dodge roll game just isn't where I'm at right now. The problem wasn't that it requires patience, it was the same-iness; if it was just as hard but the challenge felt fresher I think I would have stuck with it longer. And I definitely don't think they phoned it in, just that they went in a direction that didn't work for me.

Tell you what, though, you make a lot of good points so I'll switch it over from abandoned to shelved. I'm sure at some point I'll be in the mood for more Souls type action and maybe then I'll have the patience to power through the guy. It's gonna be a while, though; that whole level with the sniper guys and everything... beep beep dodge, beep beep dodge, ugh. Left a really bad taste in my mouth.

And thanks for the correction about the iframes I fixed that.

juliafcandida finished Alan Wake: The Writer
