The game is a really good base but it needs some more refinement, the gameplay loop gets stale pretty quick, the upgrades help a lot to mitigate this but enemies either feel like sponges or they're made of glass. the music and atmosphere of the game were highlights for me and being able to explore Shibuya from the rooftops was super fun. the story was nice and satisfying, it did a good job making me feel very thrust into the situation of the game. The constant references to Japanese folklore was something i enjoyed a lot too. this game is so close to being great, the core gameplay was just lacking for me.

the story was fucking awesome. The world building and characters
were amazing. It was batshit insane at times but thats what i was expecting from Kojima.
The gameplay is relaxing and the atmosphere is incredible. Sneaking through a BT area was always a special kind of stressful fun unfortunately, no matter which way you slice it its still going from A to B with some pretty underwhelming obstacles after the 20th time sneaking past a MULE camp
It got repetitive, which led to me skipping some later side quests, but it was really a very good game

inconsistent style throughout the game was super jarring, the fetch quest style of core gameplay was also really tedious and the dialogue sent me right back to 2016 reddit. final boss/secret boss were pretty cool in a vaccum but they weren't anything special

its peak, the music, the gameplay, the story. its amazing. best in the series i think.
loved the game, the music was bumpin the whole game, i loved how the combat flowed and made building up massive combos really really fun! a shame that i had to go through a whole ordeal to even get the game running. super duper solid game!!
holy shit, this blows DMC 1 and 2 out of the water! the music is amazing and every single cutscene had me smiling in disbelief at how awesome this game is. the combat was amazing and building up high combo was super fun

loved the story and combat, but the game's age really shows with how clunky the controls can be. also the underwater sections were ASS. music was a plus.
im sure im in for a lot more time playing this game. its super fun to play just for a little bit every day!

I managed to go as long as i have without spoilers for this game. i am so so happy i finally played it. the soundtrack was incredible and the story was surprisingly heartwarming (i did a pacifist playthrough) i think my favourite boss was Asriel. his theme and the entire content of the battle was incredible. 10/10 one of the best games ever made

Other than the boring boss battles one of the best sonic games out there i think. music is a highlight too
i held off on this game for years and now i've finally played it it one of my favourites of all time
