Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was a shocking surprise when it came to the huge step up from the previous games that it followed. Every single capacity of this game hits new heights for not just its own game series, but for gaming as a whole, especially for the year 2015. An interesting story with stellar performances and writing, combined with some of the most breathtaking visuals I have witnessed. This game was a surprise, especially after my feelings for Uncharted 1, 2 and 3. However, this is easily one of the best games I have ever played.

Uncharted 1 - Decent
Uncharted 2 - Great
Uncharted 3 - Boring

Luigi's Mansion 3 is a game that all Switch owners should experience, due to the incredible level of detail and effort put into it, which is front and centre. However, it is a bit of a repetitive drag that did become a chore to return to with little incentive to continue playing with the gameplay loop not really being that rewarding.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a game that from the outside may seem to appeal to only those who enjoy J-RPGs, but trust me, if you give it a try, and put aside your anti-anime bias for a couple dozen hours, you will find a game that for some reason, despite all its tedious annoyances, is a very beautiful and enjoyable experience to go through.

Is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity good enough to warrant being the mainline Christmas title for Nintendo? Yes. It was a very enjoyable game despite the repetitive nature of a lot of it. I found it satisfying and well made despite some issues that I had mentioned. It surprised me in some departments, such as the performance being ironed out from how it was during the demo. Overall, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was a game I enjoyed to the end and did not regret buying.

I personally would say Heartgold and Soulsilver are the second-best Pokemon games of all-time, easily, in my opinion, but they do have their flaws which are pretty glaring. Although the large amounts of passion and drive to develop the series further and provide more than any fan could have ever wished for shows in the game.

Pokemon Platinum is the best Pokemon game ever made. I seriously struggle to find many flaws with the game, and can only really find long-lasting positives, and these positives are the reason I have played through the entire game about 10 times through since 2009. Pokemon Platinum is the best Pokemon game there is, and I seriously doubt if it will ever be topped.

Emerald continues the trend of the third-version of games entering the hall of fame of Pokemon. This game still holds up perfectly today, and despite being seen as a worry back in the day, in the modern day it has cemented itself as one of the greatest Pokemon games ever-made.

Even in the modern day, Crystal holds up. It was a game that broke the barrier in terms of effort for the first time in Pokemon, excelling on the already great Gold & Silver that it followed. For me, it is still one of the best games ever made, and especially one of the best Pokemon games ever made, and it is something I can really appreciate in the modern day. However, it is still important to consider the fact it has aged, and in comparison to some future Pokemon games, it does fall short.

One of the greatest character building and story-telling narratives ever written and made.

A beautiful remake of the original trilogy. As a lifelong Spyro fan this certainly made me giddy. However, it isn't without its flaws, especially when it comes to the amount of downtime due to the obscene load times.

An enjoyable game with a great story and concept, along with beautiful and stunning visuals. However, the emotions and conversations that take place outside of cut-scenes break the immersion. It can also feel quite repetitive as a game, and as a result I don't think I'd have the urge to finish it. However, as I said I can acknowledge that this is still a good game.

2016

A decent game, however I never felt a true urge to return to games like DOOM. Although for anyone who enjoys FPS games, this game will definitely rock your boat.

Galaxy is an almost flawless game, however the Switch entry does provide a few major annoyances when it comes to the controls. Either-way, if you can look past the shortcomings in the controls on the Switch, Galaxy is still just as good as it was when it released over a decade ago.

Sunshine tried something wacky and new, and for that, I can and will always respect that move to take risks and not stay within your comfort zone. Personally, despite this respect I have for the guts to take a risk, I found the game to be more tedious and annoying than enjoyable and fun. Mario Sunshine feels nothing like what a traditional 3D Mario platformer would be expected to feel like. Although, I can also see why many would love Sunshine and regard it as their favourite Mario game, me really not liking the title is just my personally preference.
