egg, plus

So my birthday was recently and I got a switch gift card, and I got sonic mania, a game which I already loved, and decided, why not? and picked up the DLC that I had never tried out before.

Now some complaints, Encore modes gimmick of no lives and you switch between characters is a fun idea, but landed a bit short for me, I always just preferred sonic, also Ray was just super mario world's cape feather as a character, and mighty straight up sucks. The gimmick also made the game a bit easier for me, I never died much, and got a game over a whopping 3 times.

The chaos emeralds stages are also unfairly hard, they're so far away and I could never catch up to them, or maybe I just suck, but still, as soon as the first one it smacks you in the face, I could understand if these hard ones were the last ones, but no they all seem to be like that, and there's an ending locked behind it.

Smaller nitpicks would have to be that some new animations seemed a bit iffy and collision was sometimes wonky, and come on, make angel island zone have its own 2 acts you cowards. Also the final boss for titanic monarch is lame, literally just a circle lol.

Alright now that complaints and nitpicks are out of the way, this game is still a blast with them. The controls are oddly buttery smooth for a sonic game (some of the more modern games don't control all that well imo), seriously, whoever came up with the drop dash is a genius. I also don't mind alot of the levels being a throwback like others do, since they are still a blast to speed through, and so were the new ones as well. bosses are also a fun time, nothing to write home about but none of them were bad. also, Ray is my man.

all of the bonus minigames are also fun, like the blue and red orbs one is fun and challenging, pinball showed that my years of sonic spinball experience was actually worth it, and the chaos emeralds are find to collect and find (at least not in encore mode)

The game is also a delight to the eyes and ears, the visuals have these colors that POP and the encore mode recolor are also something to write home about, plus most of the animations are smooth and crisp, and the ost is one of my favorite in any game, almost every tune is a banger, and it has Eggman rapping in one of them come on! how could you not love it!

What hasn't been said over the past 4 years about this game? it deserves a spot as a classic, right up with sonic 2 & 3

Happy 6th anniversary to this amazing game, to celebrate I thought maybe I can write about why I love this game so much, it's the characters, I love almost all of the characters they're all so fun and Charming and that makes the story and paths you can go down more impactful for me, personally. I also love the gameplay style a more turn-based type of action with Bullet hell attacks its very fun and add on top of that a fun system where you can either befriend or attack your enemies, it then gets really fun to play. I get why some people don't like it or don't find it that special, but I had a blast with this game personally, and it has one of my favorite game osts, seriously some of the songs in this game are bangers. Once again, Happy 6th anniversary Undertale.

Super Double Dragon? More like POOPer Double Dragon!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!

As i mentioned in this review I get alot of enjoyment riffing on the double dragon series with friends after playing the original trilogy of games. However, my hunger for double dragon has not been satiated, and I needed more. This led me to playing Super Double Dragon, what is considered the final game in the original series canon, and its on par with the other games in the series. For one, this is the slowest game in the series yet and i MEAN slow. The controls being so stiff doesn't help at all paired with the ruthlessness of the enemies attacks and their stupidly high amount of health. Levels also drag on longer than any other Double Dragon game, its so soul-suckingly mind numbing. But hey! at least the game is playable which is something I cant say for Double Dragon I & II!

I played this in VR so it REALLY felt like I was playing tetris

This review was written before the game released

I have never played much metroid, and I tried a bit of super but never got to into it.

this is my first soulsborne game.

replayed this one and loved it more than my first playthrough, it's such a fun and charming time that any negatives I could point out are kinda just nitpicks, and that final level man I will never stop replaying it, it's one of the best final levels that I've ever played

Oh ok kirby can suck up and eat his enimes and it's all cute and nice

Super Metroid is great because I get to constantly gasp and twiddle my fingers in delight whenever finding a new or hidden item.

This review contains spoilers

This is one chapter out of a 7 chapter game and it caused me more of an emotional response than most FULL games. The characters all seem more expressive, in the dialouge and artstyle, the new characters are great, and the new mechanics make for an even better battle system, and the old one was great as it is. and, obviously, i think the music is amazing.. All this would probably culminate in the game with a 9/10 but man.. spamton is really just amazing, his backstory, his presence before his NEO fight, all great, and the fight, my lord, probably my favorite fight in the series so far, and that includes undertale, and his theme is a banger dude. I really do believe toby fox has something special on his hands, and I hope he delivers in the future chapters.
