Pretty fun game. The artstyle blends cute & disturbing pretty well, the writing is very funny, the gameplay keeps things fresh with frequent unlocks. Can get a smidge grindy if you're going for S-ranks with every form (my 100% playthrough was around 50 hours, but my NG+ run was 7 hours). Didn't play co-op, but that's probably a good time. My only real gripe is how small everything is, including some of the UI elements. I had to get up from my couch and get closer the the TV to make details out clearly (which, yeah, #thestruggle, but it was a bit annoying). Altogether would recommend.

Really great schmoovement & it's fun to finagle around areas in ways that may not have been intended. Pretty quick & doesn't overstay its welcome. Only issue is lack of a map, so it's sometimes tricky to figure out where to go. Though the world isn't super large, so it's not a major issue.

I knew what kind of game this was going into it, & I was a little concerned about being too stoopid to play it, but while it gets pretty tricky at points, it's really good at making you feel smart when you figure things out. Not super long, can be beaten in a weekend easily enough.

The only complaint I can think of is that the art style makes a couple scenes difficult to tell exactly what is happening, but it's rare, so it's not a big deal.

Even if you don't normally play detective/deduction games, would recommend giving it a shot.

Mario Wonder slaps. Every stage feels unique with its own mechanic. Everything is full of life. Just a banger game.

Very solid 2D Sonic game. Plays well & looks great. Pretty cool stage gimmicks. A lot of people complain about the bosses, but I felt only 4 or so were really bad. Didn't play multiplayer at all, so can't comment on that. Don't go for completion with the gold enemies unless you're willing to abuse the infinite super glitch.

2018

Solid game with good mechanics, but I've been spoiled by the sheer variety of Isaac, Gungeon, & Dead Cells, so runs kind of felt too similar despite the vastly different weapons available.

For the record, I have beaten a number of runs with different weapons, but I did not feel any desire to keep playing with increased "heat" to make the game more difficult for more content. And, may be anathema to say, but I was not very engaged with the story, but that's just a me thing. Still a good game tho

Felt weirdly structured for a Lego game, where rather than unlocking characters with new abilities, you more often than not unlock new abilities for the main trio (and by extension every other character I guess), where by the end, there are only a handful of abilities that aren't covered by them. I felt Years 1-4 were a little shaky, but Years 5-7 improved significantly. Not my favorite Lego games, but solid & worth playing.

Also it made me nostalgic for when I was way into Harry Potter as a kid.

After hearing unending praise for this game, I decided to try it, & it turns out it was fully deserved. The visuals are phenomenal, the story is gripping, the characters are larger-than-life, the puzzles are engaging. It's just a really good game.

Banger game with big schmovement opportunities

Some cool ideas here, but the sloppy combat (including long hitstun & very few if any i-frames) & weirdly wonky jump physics make the more difficult endgame pretty frustrating

Coming back to this as an adult after on & off playing as a child, I think that this was a solid evolution from the PS1 trilogy. Granted, it doesn't reach the highs of said trilogy, but the gameplay was decent enough, with a sort of pseudo-open world, kinda. The minigames were more focused than the ones in the PS1 trilogy, with there being only 4 different types that repeat in each realm. Too bad they are passable at best (some Sparx & Sgt. Byrd ones) & a painful slog at worst (some Blink & turret ones). The writing was fine, if childish, and pushing for humor more than previously. Altogether, a pleasant enough experience, & even my gripes didn't sour the game too much. Recommend for a fan who may not have played this one, or if you generally like PS2-era 3D platformers.

Just a simple, cute, & fun little game about cats on a quest

An alright visual novel/rhythm game. The story was fun enough, & it's very nice visually & musically, but the gameplay did get a little tedious by the end. Also, optional collectables are gotten from just tapping the screen randomly in every in-game location & hoping you hit them, which got old fast. (I did not do the bonus chapters unlocked by them.) There was a good variety in the rhythm games, ranging from swiping different directions on the screen, to tapping specific areas, to simple button presses, to motion controls (🤮)
Not a must-play, but I'm not upset I spent the 10 hours I did on the game.

(Actually a must-play for some of the worst French accents I've ever heard)

Very cute game about a mouse who just wants to help people 🥺; kind of narrative driven with light platforming & puzzles, with optional collecathon elements. Not too long, maybe 8 hours for 100% completion

Play the game because the devs are champs. I ran into a bug & was able to contact them, & they were very responsive & directed me how to get around it & said that they'd patch the issue.
