Some call it hack'n slay, some 3rd person action-adventures, others stylish action, but i like the term character action the most. I love this subgenre as it encourages you to become a badass fighter worthy of the character you are playing as. Combos, some exploration and plattforming, replaying for highscores and more upgrades are aspects that make these games the most fun video game experiences i have had.
Some of these are so close that they might be interchangable at this point, but they are all great games.

Btw: I still have several character action games in my backlog so i will probably update this list.
