Fun little Disney themed scrabble game. Serviceable to kill some time now and then. No IAP’s thanks to it being on Apple Arcade. Just finished the main campaign but i’ll keep playing against my SO.

Refreshing at first, the novelty of being a cat quickly wears of and we’re left with a game that’s still good but left me on my hunger. The platforming could have been much better. Instead, the developers opted for a gameplay based on prompts telling you where you can jump and where not. The concept of being a cat could have been pushed much further offering some parkour like acrobatic gameplay. The world building is decent but nothing that hasn’t been done before. I enjoyed Stray but couldn’t shake off the feeling of lost potential.

If you played the first Insomniac Spider-Man and if you tried Miles Morales, you know what you're getting here. Spider-Man 2 is essentially more of the same. Insomniac fine-tuned their formula and you can't fault them on a technical level. Gorgeous graphics, a game engine that just devours anything that you throw at it, it's simply stunning what they achieved. However, if you look at gameplay and experience, you could say this is very cookie cutter. Like most Marvel movies, a lot happens, but in the end nothing ever matters. Fast food for the masses.

This game has a lot of potential. Great graphics and performance, a stunning and huge island as playground, many cars, it has it all. However once you start delving deeper you’re met with inconsistent driving models, the very worst of In App Purchasing and a confusing mess of menu’s. My god, how I wanted to have an Horizon Motorsport like on Playstation. Well that didn’t turn out well.

Rather decent short game having a lot of themes reminiscent of other episodes. The worldchanging, the psychological horror. This game even touches rather heavily on themes of suicide which is rather risky. Aside from the FMV sections which I found to be totally out of character, I truly enjoyed this little stint into the minds of the Silent Hill team. The monster design is great also!

The world buidling is much better than in the previous Diablo. We’re back to a sinister atmosphere which is one of the core elements of the franchise. However the gameplay can’t keep me hooked. I’m currently level 50 and just finished off the main campaign. I’m not quite sure if I’m willing to set my quest further to level 100…

I followed Larian for quite some time. Divinity Original Sin 2 was on my backlog and just when I was about to start that game I heard their next game was about to be released. So, I decided to wait for that one. I wasn’t prepared to get so immersed in a world as I became in Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s truly remarkable what Larian achieved with this gem. I played my fair share of RPG’s in my 44 years as a gamer but how Larian managed to create such a mastodont of a game is beyond me. The amount of choice and possibilities in this game is mind boggling. You would assume that making such a complex game would cause sacrifices on other elements but nothing is further from the truth. The storyline, the graphics, the sound design, dialogue, gameplay… just about everything oozes quality. It took me 160 hours for my first playthrough but what an experience it has been. Surely, I will pick this game up later on to have another go on it.

A great followup to an already stellar first episode, Guacamelee is more of the same with an emphasis on fun.

One of the best driving simulators money can buy. However the GT series is slow to innovate and the latest rendition carries the same issues that were present in the previous games. No visible damage, bad AI, bad menu design, etc… . If you can look past these issues, you’ll find a driving game with a wealth of options, a lot of care to get all details right.

I gave this game a fair try but even after 5 hours I can’t be bothered to set my quest further. At first the artstyle and premise of the game attracted me. I’m a sucker for meteoidvania games but this one is just badly made. The leveldesign is bland, the gameplay is boring and the enemies are uninspired. I’m playing Guacamelee 2 now which is leagues better.

I completed this game back in the time on PS3. Having watched the HBO series I felt compelled to play the remake and it didn’t dissapoint! This really is a masterclass in storytelling and furtive gameplay. I always had a weak spot for stealth games and on higher difficulties the game is truly a gem. The survival aspect is magnified and you can’t just kill all infected or soldiers you stumble upon. It’s all about saving your munitions for the moments where you can’t avoid a confrontation. Add to this the truly remarkable makeover they did on the PS3 game. The worldbuilding is really incredible. Top it up with some of the most hearthfelt characters you’ve encountered in years and I can only conclude that this is a masterpiece of a game!

I forced myself to continue playing until the end of the first act (27 hours). I wanted so much to like this game but it just doesn’t click. The production value is top notch. I recognize that this is a wet dream for old school JRPG lovers but I had a hard time getting invested into it. The game is just so extremely easy. Even now at the end of act 1 I was still rolling over ennemies and bosses. Thus, all the abilities, equipment, shops mean nothing. It’s a shame they put such an amount of content in a game just to have it spoiled because you don’t need anything of it. I know there’s the Draconian options to remedy this but I don’t see myself throwing all that gameplay time out of the window 😕

The Quarry is your typical summercamp slasher movie turned interactive. Don’t expect much real time gameplay here. The interactivity is reduced to some walking scenes, dialogue options and (very basic) quick time events. However, if you go into the adventure expecting to see a movie where you are the director you’ll have great time. The atmosphere is top notch, production value is high and the sound design is terrific. I had a blast unravelling the mystery!

A great game for short sessions, What the Golf is a game that relies heavily on it’s surprising twists on the classic golf concept. The physics based challenges can be enjoyed in short bursts and will regularly put a smile on your face.

The last episode of season 1 is a classic tale about a serial killer horror house based on the myth of H H Holmes. The games are becoming more effective throughout the season. This last one perfects the formula further. The game relies this time less on QTE’s which is a good thing.
