If I was writing this 2 or so months ago, before XC3: Future Redeemed released, I would be calling this the best piece of DLC ever released. It's not perfect, the side quests are rough and the pacing can be weird because of the forced side quests, but it improves on everything I took issue with in XC2 and delivers a great story along with it, along with being around 20 hours long for a DLC, which is so wild.

YES this game is so good! The story hits hard, it somehow manages to salvage the mess episode 2 left into something brilliant, and tie off the series wonderfully, while also having two of the best turn based battle systems I've ever played, in both it's mech and ground combat. Absolute must play if you can get yourself through episode 2.
Wow this game is just not it. Certain parts of the story are great, and it is worth getting through to experience episode 3, but this game's combat is bad. Really bad. And it's so damn boring, and the characters are so ugly, and many dub actors from episode were replaced for the worse, it's just so rough.
This is my favorite game of all time. It takes the best parts of the first two Xenoblades to create something both unique and deeply resonant with me. A game that had me laughing, losing my shit, and sobbing like a baby on multiple occasions paired with a beautiful world that is the best take on the 'remixing locations from old games' troupe I've ever seen, and the amazing combat system that is my favorite take on a job system in a jrpg. Absolute masterpiece.
LET TAKAHASHI COOK. If this wasn't a DLC it would be my GOTY, but because it technically isn't a full game I'm not calling it that. Amazing conclusion to the story started with XC1, and an amazing expansion of the lore for Xenoblade 3, and Xenoblade as a whole, plus banger OSTs and a great take on 3's combat. I love the aged up old characters, along with the new ones! A will have my heart forever.
