Truly one of the best 2D platformer, if not the best 2D Mario !!

Mario Wonder oozes with personality and love, something that was really lacking since the start of the first New Super Mario on DS.

From the animation, mixing 3D assets and 2D sprites to create this new style, from the music and sound effects that accompany the game so naturally, and of course the new voices of Mario and Luigi which really tells us that this is a new breath of fresh air for the franchise.

As for the gameplay, each level has a new idea and concept to put on the table (almost every time) and thus each level feels unique and not repetitive at all.
The wonderflower is really the highlight of the game, giving us some whacky and fun mechanics that can change the gameplay drastically or in really small ways.
The main power-ups while consisting of 4, or used in really clever ways, prioritizing their interaction with the level design instead of being only a power-boost.

The game can also be a bit challenging at times, which is very welcome when we compare it to the breeze walk that was the New series.

Aside from the bosses which are almost non-existent and the post-game which can lack a bit in quantity, Mario Wonder is a perfect 2D experience and a must-play for all the fans of Mario !!

I didn't remember this game being this bad ;-;
I agree with Scott The Woz play green hill zone the rest of the game, not worth it.

The best turned based rpg without a fucking doubt, the devs did it a TB rpg where I don't fall asleep while playing it !!
+ bonus on the characters and story, they are amazing !!!

I can't wait to play Sonic and the Moon Facility, so I can have a great 2D Sonic experience !!

Also from where did that final boss come from ??

How did anyone beat this game in 96 ? Thank god save states exist 🙏🙏

This game would be even better if you had a way to TP yourself from zones to zones (because finishing it at 100% can be really repetitive)

This remake of Link's Awakening is in my Top 3 Zelda games (with Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess) and my favorite 2D game in the entire franchise.

Every story in a Zelda games has that aspect of growing up and becoming a hero/adult.
This is the only Zelda game where Link is not a hero, he's not fighting to save an entire kingdom from evil or stopping an impending doom from happening, here he's just trying to escape this island and continue his "quest", while knowing full well that it would mean the end for this island and it's inhabitants.

I think the word that would describe this game best is "melancholy", from the graphics, to the music, and the story...
Link's Awakening manages to create this atmosphere of familiarity and nostalgia (the fact that this is a remake is even more fitting), and the ending culminates in this sad but thankful goodbye.

This is not a game with a thought-provoking plot or groundbreaking gameplay, because it doesn't try to be, it's a game that perfects itself thanks to its simplicity.

Link's Awakening also has some unintentional meta elements to it, but still fitting.
For example, the fact that you the player (if you chose to name the character as yourself) are controlling this character thrown in this world made of dreams that compose the most of your gaming experience, can be an echo to games and fiction in general.
Or that the game tells you time and time again that you will make this world disappear when you end your adventure, even though you can decide to not do that if you stop playing.
(I don't know if it's the "first video game" that tries to communicate with the player in that sort of way, but it really reminded me of the likes of Undertale and Oneshot in that regard)

It's not a perfect game by all means, but it's a really nice experience or an amazing one if you let it captures your heart.

Actually the best 3DS game without a doubt, the amount of time I've put in this game is insane for a handheld game !!
The content in this game is brimming with quality + the writing is amazing !!
This might be the ultimate 3DS experience even with those awful controls, you get used to it with time.

No other game series will ever achieve such visceral feelings of stress, fear and satisfaction as Fear and Hunger !!

So this game is a buggy mess, has some poor voice acting, the graphics didn't age well, and worst of all that shitty camera.
And still I like this game !! Maybe because it tried something, even if the final product wasn't maybe what the devs hoped for !!
(Also Big The Cat is cute and wholesome, I won't elaborate on that)

(Just finished SA2 and how is it that this game is better than SA2 😭)

2009

Actually the greatest game of all time (Yes I'm biased)

This game is not really fun imo ? The mechs gameplay is boring and take too much time, same with the emeralds hunting but even more boring and frustrating since it takes more time to find the pieces and omg the sonic/shadow gameplay is such a broken mess (even more than the two other types of gameplay).
When the gameplay of Sonic/Shadow is built around 3 things speed, the platforming and the spindash, well the 3 needs to be functional so that the level design can flourish but what would you know !! The spindash works half of the time. And associating that with the platforming/speed, it doesn't mesh well because of some infuriating boss and level gimmicks that just kills/hits you half of the time.
But when it works, this game works, and it's awesome with good levels, music and the best scenario of the franchise (for a Sonic game) this games still achieves to be great !!

Better than the Wii version, but it's less memorable + the worst rush game out of the 3.
