The best game on the NES. Mario 3 is why 2D platformers are still good and relevant today. I think I'd be lying to myself if I said it's better than a few of my higher ranked favorites, but Mario 3 is a triumph of it's era

Better than Galaxy 1, but I still think it's obnoxious to control far too often. Not among my 3D platforming favorites, but not bad.

Polished as hell Kart racing goodness. Doesn't have the spunky charm that makes me love MKWii, but MK8 is the definitive game in the serirs

It's taken a long time, but if come to appreciate TP. A couple dungeon duds, a terrible opening and tears of light isn't enough for me to shaft the rest of what TP has to offer. Really fun combat, good items, thematically interesting, the best helper in the series, and a nicely paced story

I'm pretty confident this is my favorite FF title. Kefka is by far my favorite villain, and thematically this the sweet spot of industrialization where it gives the Laputa vibes and doesn't slip into ff7 tier sci-fi (which I find corny)

I...kinda don't like the remake that much. It feels so odd playing a game that looks so modern with such janky controls.

That being said, SoC is worth playing for everyone, and the setpieces in HD are breathtaking.

A great smash game. Competitively solid, and a ton of casual fun.

The builds are great, the combat is great, and the environments are really neat. The RNG is annoying at a rate a bit above some other roguelites, but the orb unlock progression is a fun overarching goal

A strong entry to the Metroid series. It's tense in all the right ways, and controls very well.

Way too many random encounters, the gameplay is a step behind the last 20 years of turn-based jrpgs, but the narrative is SO GOOD. The time bending, the persona lore, the rumor system is all so interesting.

It's a fun superhero open world game! I think it's more fun than the Arkham games of the same era, and it's in a world where there weren't many good ones. The story is cheesy and not that interesting, but the good/bad powers are enjoyable

Not quite as good solo as the first imo, but an amazing group co-op experience. Very fun, good build variety, fun character diversity

A mostly straightforward 3D platformer from an era that was still filled with them, Jak is filled with enough charm and tight platforming to be enjoyable from start to finish. Lots of fun
