It's really just not that bad, but not that good either. However, important to note is that this is obviously the first 3D mainline Pokemon game. If they released a title today with 2D sprites I would probably buy it; I feel the move to 3D was too taxing for the small indie company that is the one behind the multi-billion dollar franchise. Apparently they want to slow down the development of games to increase quality but I have a good feeling that will only lead to what they did with SV where they increase the ambition without using the budget for extra staff and all that. Not even "extra" at this point since it's something I feel they could seriously use at the moment.

The story reminds me of something a chuuni teen in 2008 would write, thus I think it has a bit of charm even if it's total ass. I do appreciate the bosses, and how Mima is in this one.
A very good Touhou game, Yuyuko's final spell can eat shit but Yuyuko herself can eat whatever she wants I like her
This game brought back Yuuka and gave us the great duo of Komachi and Eiki. Pretty fun, but I prefer Dim. Dream

I think people undermine just how cool the PC-98 era was. This was definitely the best game of the bunch, and Mima is cool and should be brought back one more time.
They forced soul by making good decisions during development. Shame on Nintendo.
