Being one of the fist monster collector rpg for the masses the nostalgia on this is strong for the people growing up with a gameboy.
I have a soft spot for its sounds and sprites. I also probably beat the game over 20 times by now, trying out new team compositions as well as changing up the number of team members per run can add additional fun after beating it once. The Pokemon I love the most have to be Nidoking, Slowbro and Magneton.
Despite glitches, exploits and other minor aspects it delivers a good pacing. Some other Problems may include the small inventory, traded evolutions not being accessible and the odd AI. But my biggest complaint is the post-game which is nonexistent excluding catching Mewtu. I will return to this game, but I doubt that younger players can be amazed by this dinosaur.

This Game improves on many aspects, they are too plenty to list but some of my favourites would be the great sprite work, the sound, the attack animations and being able to explore two regions. But personally I also have some things that I don’t enjoy that much, for example the pacing is horrible in this game and the starters are the weakest lineup in the franchise, the postgame still isn’t good and Kanto is pale in comparison to Jotho. But my Nr.1 complaint has to be the options you have when you build a team: first of all elemental stones are not easy obtainable like in the last one, secondly most new interesting pokemon are in the kanto region? (that is very late in the game), and thirdly you still wont be able to use trade evolutions (they added also more trade evolutions) this summed up feels like you have less options than gen 1 also with the pacing issue I would put this slightly above Gen 1.

First of all I value postgame in PKMN games a lot, therefore gen 3 or emerald to be precise is a revelation. The main game has the best pacing in any PKMN game full stop. The new PKMN feel new and refreshing, abilities feel like they change the way we approached these games, the mapping of the hoen region is phenomenal, this game has a great art direction and looks still gorgeous. It has an amazing lineup for the starters as well as many routes early on with new exciting PKMN, the mistreated Fighting type finally gets love, all through a positive experience. And I not even touched upon the postgame , yes the Battle Frontier debuted in this game and its fantastic many hours to play with fun variations on the PKMN formula, personal favourite being the factory. I really like to use Swampert, Guardevoir and Swellow. Might be my favourite entry.

Where to start. This remake rebuilds gen 1 and improves on the new additions the franchise brought up. But…it is kinda off, for example these games obviously have the special split but it never feels as if the game was balanced and play tested enough. The whole game just doesn’t impress me I think the sevi islands are quite lazy content, even though this is technically gen 3 almost no other Pokémon from jotho or hoen are in this.(very few after becoming champ) There is this Trainer Tower and I thought cool, something along the lines of the battle fromtier? - no, not even close it’s trash and feels cheap, there isn’t much motivation for me, almost nothing new, and the new things disappoint or feel unbalanced. I know that my opinion is probably contrary to the public view but I rather play Gen 1 RBG.

Gen 4 is for me a mixed bag, it plays very slow, many pre- and new evolutions to previous existing PKMN bother me, but it also can shine very bright. For example the starter lineup even outclasses Gen 3, the Battle Frontier is added in Platinum (big plus for me), the new region is cool (literally), easily the best champ fight in the series thus far, and the extra plot w in Platinum is fire. I really think this game challenges Emerald for the number one spot but it isn’t quite there. Nevertheless a very good PKMN one of the strongest.

Remake of the Jotho-Adventure, this is probably for most people the best game in the franchise and it has many qualities: Kanto Region offers more, Battle Frontier, PKMN on number one spot is visually following the player, the Touch-Screen is great to use, and well the nostalgia is very strong. The only issue for me similar to Gen 2 is the pacing; now with more mandatory story moments and slower fights it suffers even more on that aspect. But the postgames good, and if you want to play one game and no other this one might be it. Very close to be the best one. Just barely not for me.

This game is a pseudo nostalgic game for me. I love the way it plays - pacing really good except the backtrack towards the end. Top-Down stealth action with a lot charm due to it’s polygon style which didn’t aged half bad. The Boss-Fights are really blood pumping and I adore the backstories on all the characters. In addition there are VR-Missions which are quite fun.
The Story with it’s twist and turns got to be a milestone back in the day and still entertaining today. I really dig this game. I also red the novel based on the game, which is good too.

So what should a MGS-Fan tell you? You play alongside the hero character from one, get basically similar quality Boss-Fights from MGS, and even a depper, crazier story with new and returning characters. Love this game like MGS but it's still special, again VR-Missions, Substories and several different difficulties to choose this is a banger of a video game. Novel’s good too.

Metal Gear 3 Snake Eater is such an amazing achievement for humanity. A Game that has so much to offer. The story might be most emotional one yet. And the Boss-Fights still keep on impressing further on. One aspect that I don’t like gameplay wise is the cure, eating and camo system in this game, on paper they make the game richer but in reality it takes you away from the tactical espionage. A zero to hero story with a bittersweet ending to deepen the melancholy of the franchise. Fantastic Game. Every one should know about this one.

Metal Gear Peace Walker is great, many good few bad. The good: crouch walking, addictive micro-management, many Boss-Fights, very good looking graphic novel cutscenes, and more of Big Boss. The negatives: the camera (if u play the psp vers.), grind heavy to reach certain story points, very small areas.
Personal highlight: Fighting Monster Hunter Monsters. Amazing Crossover, love it.

The Finale of the Metal Gear Solid Timeline (basically). Playing old snake, massive amount of cutscenes and remarkable moments to remember for ever. I think there are too many weapons, the boss fights are less amazing and remarkable (except 2 fights). The Czech level isn’t that good and I kinda miss the VR and Side-story stuff. This is one of the most satisfying games to play after MGS, MGS2 and MGS3 who would have thought.

I kinda liked the story, Father-Son dynamics are just fun to me, my biggest problem is the real time story climax, really annoys me a lot, also there is a lot of free space in the maps which feel too empty. You can call friends to help you which is quite fun, already liked it in previous entries. Connor starts not great but gets better as the story goes by.

I like this game a lot, this is a real 3d platformer unlike the sequels. I’m getting some Mario 64 vibes even though the level design lacks in comparison to other 3d adventures.

I like this original superhero game by sucker punch, the electric abilities are quite unique and this game kinda made the karma system very popular. The Comic cutscenes are great. At times the control’s can be annoying because Cole sticks to certain places like glue, I also think the evil route has cooler abilities. But overall a cool game that lacks some polish but makes up for it with other qualities.

Graphically an improvement, gameplay wise too but still, I like the first one better.
The map includes now swamps which is a pain to traverse, the new abilities feel not so great to me since they distance themself from the electric powers, which were more diverse in the last game. I also don’t like the “love interest” ice-girl and swamp-girl, the enemies were never great in infamous but these abominations are anything but good. Still a game thats marks the peak with the original infamous of the hero game of the ps3 console generation.
