They forgot to put in the graphics

There is good stuff in here but it's hidden underneath the hours upon hours upon hours of Korean MMO side quest tier content. It is a barely functional mess and a very bland Mass Effect facsimile but there are certain missions and characters that have genuine heart poured into them and knowing the hellish conditions this game was made in I can't help but respect that.

That being said, I'm glad both this game and Anthem failed. Bioware needed that, things have to change.

50-ish year old dude tries to write a "phone bad" type story about teenagers in a game where you run around aimlessly for no payoff whatsoever. This feels like it should've come out in 2013-2014 with all the other terrible horror walking sims.

Unplayable but in the literal sense

Incredible game. The only real flaw of this game is that it is a remake, which in my eyes is just a lesser form of art. It's also a game where you suplex zombies so maybe I'm just saying shit.

Playing this game feels like binging a really good sci-fi show, or rather it feels like binging all of them at once

I think it's messed up that my party members start bitching and moaning every time a Devil offers me sex in exchange for a part of my soul and I say "Yes". Mind your own business.

Anyway, it's a great game plagued by a ton of issues, most of which come from staying true to D&D (wack leveling curve, poorly implemented rest system, underwhelming roleplaying options for anything outside of combat, nonsensical checks and rolls that slow the game down, etc.) but the sheer ambition and attention to detail coupled with killer performances, decent writing and a banger of a soundtrack make the issues relatively easy to ignore.

It's like the video game equivalent of a bass boosted fart sound with a lot of reverb on it

Please ignore every review that recommends the Restored Content Mod. The restored content is garbage and only makes the game worse.

Arguably one of the worst MegaTen games released in the past decade

Incredible game. Layers upon layers of narrative(s), visuals and sounds. There's so much to dive into, here, under the lake that's not a lake. Hope it will end up getting as much love as Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 2 in the long run.

They be making fungible video games over there at Square Enix
