I have beaten this game 4 times in my life.
Every time I play this game, I feel dread.

I say to myself "Chapter 1-1 was good. I like the Africa setting".
I make it to chapter 1-3. "It's all downhill from here" I say to my friend.
Chapter 3-1 appears. "This is the worst chapter in the game" I say.
Chapter 5-3 appears - "This is the worst chapter in the game - I hate this chapter".
I beat the game. "This game sucks" I say to myself.

3 years pass.

"resident evil 5 is good" I proclaim.
"Aside from a few shit chapters, this game is awesome. It's shittier than 4 but it's still fun!"
I relaunch the game to play with my friend.

"this game is so clunky it's fucking awesome".
Chapter 2-1 appears. "The swamp is the last good part of the game".
I spend the next 5 chapters saying that we're at the worst part of the game.
The game ends.
"Wow I hate the entire ending sequence of this game - I never want to play this game again".

5 more years pass.

"Yeah I'll play resident evil 5 with you"

I have Stockholm syndrome. I am dying.

Hm....
Personally, I think games should be more obtuse.
I mean this genuinely.

I didn't press F1 until hour 10 and realize that I can use skills on things. This was awesome.
That item on the ground? Personally I don't want it to be distinguishable from the background to any degree.
A timer marking my imminent loss causing anxiety anytime I waste time? This is awesome. Your daughter is kidnapped? Sorry bro - I got shit to do.
Peak obtuseness was me realizing that reading a book and failing a repair passed like 12 hours of time. At this point the radx I took started to wear off (the radiation system is also obtuse and awesome), and my character casually remarks that their hair is falling out and their body is hemorrhaging.

I go back to a certain area after a certain amount of time passes... OOPS! Gorsh, golly!
>I beat the game but I took a little bit too long
A GA A HORSH
You specced 1 intelligence and 1 agility ? ? That's real.

Half the settlements don't know a single thing about each other, aside from traders. This weird separation combines with how desolate the wasteland actually is, is super good.
My favorite example of this is every settlement acting like you're an insane child for believing in Deathclaws. Meanwhile, in a certain settlement, the citizens are like "Deathclaws? points they're over there. We can't go over there any more because of thems. We hired guards to stop them from MAIMING us"

Ok final thought - the Mutant threat? Awesome. Mutants one hit killing me? Awesome. A mutant escorting me to an end game location, only to either have me instant game over or beat me within an inch of my life, lock me up, and take all my items? These things are awesome. Didn't save recently? you're an imbecile.

I prayed and prayed for this day to come.
My wife told me to stop, but I persisted and did not cease.
I read the book of God and ignored every word he told me.
He will come for me.

It's tender...it's juicy....

DON'T CARE

Bought this game on release day.
I'm unsure who some of these characters are. Not sure what games these characters come from. Unsure who added them or why they're fighting. I understand Mario, and I understand Kirby.
There are too many characters and items.
Where's Grimace? Kirby is basically pink Grimace.
I played one level and it made me fight 10 Yoshis. Played another fight the 10 targets. Unsure why they added so many characters into this game. There are too many characters and items. Another level made me jump onto the platforms. Had at least a minute to do that.
There's too many stages in this game.
The sledgehammer mario hammer item was not something I expected to see and then I did. There are too many characters and items.
There's a perfect amount of music in this game.

This game is awesome.
I probably have only experienced like 20% of what the game has to offer, and have only played it for 8 hours or so.
I really don't feel like doing anything in the city, but I really love pretty much every setpiece/area within the dungeon itself.
I will definitely not just watch like 60 youtube videos about this.

No idea what the fuck this game was on about.

Progress made: 0/100
I never found anything. I went through every door.
The only corridor I made it all the way through just led me to a shortcut all the way back to another area I've already been to.
Why'd this.,

Oh it's quite literally an Atari game.
Makes sense.

Fuck off.

WIKTOBER

It's literally the first game... but better...
This might be my favorite in the genre of small child in 2d space with platforming and puzzle solving and horrific atmosphere.
I'd reckon each of the areas in this game are more horrific than the entirety of the first.

However ... My comfort ...
Yes - I can hold my feral girlfriends hand and YES - I can smash things...
But man...these kids are suffering. I feel for them.
The ending? Hmm. I'll be thinking about that.
I hope the threequel has ties to the first two games.

WIKTOBER

Finally, a survival horror game I can play with my brother on the couch.
WAIT....big bro...GIVE ME BACK THE CAMERA CONTR-

This game was fun, and the concept is cute and should be done again.
However - everything in this game kinda felt like ass.
The story isn't real and the stakes are not real. "I can't leave - I gotta find out what's going on!".
This game features limited saving, limited healing and limited ammo, along with 5 characters having permadeath. None of these things mattered. I'd reckon playing on hard is the way to go, but I can only imagine it would just enhance the clunkiness of how game feels and plays.

wait...there's a sequel....wha..

WIKTOBER

Hmm...fucked up...

Lol'ing at the people who got stuck on any puzzle in this DLC and got mad in the reviews.
(I am touting the rare "I did not google anything" award)
I lol as I have had to google everything for the PS2 era horror games i've been playing this fine wiktober...
Stay away from the subway surfers friends...

WIKTOBER GAMING TIME

The Nome DLC.
I literally can't be mad.

Those shadows? Hmm...I'm thinking .... (Mikli will be lacking critical information in Little Nighmares II - Mad?)

WIKTOBER

I'm pretty sure I created this DLC after a night out at the pub with the lads.
I was thinking about water and about horror and about puzzles.
I was thinking about big and I was thinking about small.

I joined Swedish team creators and made video game DLC underwater little nightmares runaway kid video game DLC

Today

WIKTOBER WIKTOBER

I've been putting off playing this game for like 6 years now, knowing that I'd like it but just not feeling like playing it.
Not many know this, but I invented the genre of small child in 2d space with platforming and puzzle solving and horrific atmosphere. My name is Jonh Limbo Wiktober .

I love the Nomes and I actually felt tangible warmth each time I hugged them.
I hope they're ok.

I will be playing the sequel to little big nightmares soon.

IT'S WIKTOBER EVERYONE

Alright guys...hear me out...
I quit on chapter 3..... "Wikwi bro....it's the shortest chapter...you gotta finish it!"
I don't want to....

The game is....good.

I like the atmosphere, the movement and the mechanics in place are cool. I like the photo mechanic, and I liked the overall area my first time exploring it.

Here's what I don't like:
• The ghosts.....I get it man...They're ghosts...I should expect them to teleport behind me and also clip through walls. In practice, this was rather frustrating with the movement...this is fine, however, refer to the next point.
• There's like 20 health items up to chapter 2, and maybe like 5 items that act as a second life bar if you die. 95% of ghost attacks do about 35-45% of your entire health bar, and you can only carry one life-bar restore on your person at a time. The penalty for dying is starting at a manual save point located throughout the area you explore. This system is in place to add tension, however, it personally just frustrated me. I didn't enjoy backtracking to pick up a life-restore just as much as I didn't like backtracking to savepoints in order to not lose progress.
• Exploring the exact same areas in 3 different nights was not enjoyable to me. I much prefer a system akin to RE1.
• The puzzles are not good and additionally are recycled about 10 times.
• The story was not very engaging.

I will still play Fatal Frame II one day.
