Seriously, this games is pretty good: i would say that the level design is a lil bit less good than in Sonic 2, its by far way more creative: the zone, except carnival zone, have all unic gimmick, with a great sense of speed, and beautiful environnment... because yeah, this game is pretty, with busy, but effective visual, nice sprite and background, really good cinematic for a megadrive and a killer soundtrack, like always

Sonic control as great than in sonic 2...except in the bonus stage...im talking about the sphere one, because the other one are not really fun and interesting honestly. in the bonus stage, there is a weird delay in every move you do, and overall its not very good

But, despite some flaws, this is still a pretty solid game, that i recommand playing

Let me explain why i think this way: the gimmick of this game is to go back in time for puzzle or combat purpose: super idea in concept, but in practice, i majorly used this gimmick as hitpoint, and thats it: like, how? Well, thats just because the level design, overall, wasnt well built around this gimmick: its really barely useful in the game, except in level 3 and in the two special level, but other than that...meh...

The other 4 level are just bland level just filled with generic enemy and...wait...did i said only 4? THERE IS ONLY 7 ORIGINAL LEVEL IN THIS GAME? AND FIVE OF THEM ARE REPEAT WITH LITTLE CHANGE AND ARE NECESSARY TO BEAT THE GAME? THATS ACTUALLY WORSE THAT THE N.VERTED LEVEL IN CRASH 4, BECAUSE, AT LEAST, YOU DONT NEED TO COMPLETE THEM TO REACH THE CREDIT. and thats the two biggest problem of this game: underused mechanic and pading...but even then, im not over

You want to know why i didnt want to use the time mechanic and only using them as hitpoint ? Cause, sometimes, the game just randomly decided to put bullshit over bullshit for no reason...but hey, at least, the mechanic recharge after use, right? NO, YOU IDIOT, ITS NOT CASED IN THE SECOND PARY OF THE GAME...and the most emblematic part of this problem are the two final boss: daddy (i call him how i want, shut up) his pattern are just stupid, especially in the rematch...but the other boss arent like that, dont worry, they all have problem: first boss is just boring, 2 boss would have been alright if, in the second face, you couldnt have been randomly trapped and doomed by the pattern of the squishing obstacle, boss 3 is by far the best, but his second face isnt that enjoyable. Boss 4 is annoying as hell, with his stupid orb. And the kohaku's clone...is kinda cool actually

For the rest, the music is great, as for the character ( except the boring and dumb antagonist/daddy) the story is heh, and the pixelart is nice and all, but the location are just...uninteresting

I wished the game was more like stage 3 or tge two bonus stage

But i just enjoyed going throught the game: its a more consistent game that "its about Time", but it doesnt reach the same high

I litteraly only played this game for the soundtrack...and now, its one of my favorite game of all time... gaming is so weird

Seriously tho, not only the presentation is incredible ( the excellent music, the colorful and full of life graphism, the great animation of the character) but this game is incredible to play: the moveset of kirby and how he control are on point and make him a blast to play, the level design is varied, sometimes simple, but sweet, with great gimmick that distinguish one level to the other...but the two main force of this one are, firstly, the combining powerupp gimmick, that make this game stand out even more, sith all the incredible combinaison you will be able to pull off, and secondly, the fact that this game isnt fully a 3d game style, but more like a 2.5 d game...making it stands out even more

By the way, did i mention that world 5 of this game is litteraly a commentary of our society about how mass industrialisation might kill all of us? I sure didnt expect that in Kirby, but hey, thats sakurai's Magic

The only complain i have is that sometimes, the crystal shard are rly tedious to collect...but other than that, it a almost flawless experience

This game is honestly one of the most underrated metroid game out there...but at the same time, it isnt...let me explain

If you want to review this game as a regular game: its fantastic: presentation is incredible for the Wii, with a incredible soundtrack to keep you on board, the level design and puzzle geniously design and are accentuated by the gameplay of samus, who, for the most part, control rly great (except in some motion control instance). This game, as a all, is great

The main problem of this game tho, is that, while its a great game, its also not a great METROID game: for 3 main reason: firstly, the game is shockingly easy: the boss fight, for instance, are rly well designed, but are for the most part a jock to fight, and the combat overall, while satisfying, is rly easy. Secondly, while the planet have a amazing ambiance, that will make you feel completely alone, all of that is sadly thrown out of the window due to the fact that you are always helped or giving indication by someone in the game (aurora or the colonel, for instance), and this allow me to jump on the third reason why the game isnt a great metroid game: the exploration. Ok, some item are rly well hidden, but for the most part, the game love to give indications to where to go, and that kill this thrilling sensation of finding item or even just where to go(this tendance kinda disappear in the late game tho), i can also quickly mention all the satellite, that reveal all the emplacement of the item, but honestly, they are completely optional and were smartly implemented, so i actually rly like them

So in conclusion, while i love this game, i cant say this necessary a excellent METROID game. Just a excellent game

On a quick note, the story and concept were pretty good, and remain the only metroid game with a good story on the Wii...DOESNT IT, OTHER M? I HAD A BLAST WHEN I HAD TO KILL DUMBFUCK METROID, AND FREEZING ALL OF THEM TO DEATH

The game is fun and all, it look decent i Guess, sound rly bland...But have a rly good concept to mix total Wipeout with a battle Royal, sadly the game is painfully unreplayable and became repetitive quickly, simply because the game consist of just 5 round of the same 15 minigame...thats not a lot for a online game like this one, ngl

I mean, it remain fun, but honestly, i think this game is just gonna be forgotten about in the end of...lets say, at best, september, and will only came back at the next summer

Never a game gave me such a feeling of freedom!

This game is just...addicting, endless and just feel...real ! And it manage to pulls that effect simply by giving us the most freedom possible ! As soon as you get out of the crypt that served as a tutorial, you are just left Aline with the world that surround you, and, sûre, you can always follow the intended path directly to start immediatly the story, but....the game also let you go...basically everywhere from the get go. And that what this game is about: freedom and immersion : this effect is also pulled of by how the quest are structured: they basically dont have one, and you are only left with vague indication given by the rare npc, but this lack of structure allow you to tackle that said quest howewhere you want, and it even apply for the main story. Story that is quite interesting, yes, but, honestly, you will even forget that this game has one, because, again, the game let you do whatever you do, and wont force you to continue the story....again, adding to this sense of freedom and Wonder: wonder that is accentuate by the superb visual and divine music (even on older hardware).

Gameplay wise, its quite simple really, and feal like a dark souls spin off: two kind of attack, Parry, Roll, running, jumping, even spell for some class of character...but this simple gameplay, not only is effective, and make the game super satisfying when you beat a toth boss for exemple, but also show that, sometimes, the gameplay doesnt make the game

okay, sometimes this game repeat content (its a open world tho, so its unavoidable at this point), sometimes the camera doesnt work well, and sometimes the control can feal janky...but come on, its elden ring

I used to be excited by this crap! I used to be hooked by the amazing concept of this game! I was so fucking happy when i originally install this...but all i had was a unfinished, laggy, and glitchy mess...i litteraly played 5 minute of it before quitting...it was litteraly THAT bad (the game look super simple, and yet ran at 10 FPS)

I used to thought that it was my computers fault, but NO!

Its just that this game is a terrible, buggy, unfinished mess

It costed 10 euro...and it was 10 euro wasted on a garbage product

There is nothing to say, its not funny Bad, like the other game i put 0,5 star so far

Ok, before i piss off everyone, i will just start with the positive:

The presentation is great: not only it look incredible for snes standard, but the music is also catchy as Fuck

Megaman control flawlessly and is a joy to play, with a great selection of movement and weapon

And i love the intro level: probably one of the best intro stage of all time, and the eagle stage is superb

Now that being said, the rest of this game is shit: i mean, the level design is a litteral jock: sure, some item are cleverly hidden, but the rest of the level design feel super flat and way too easy...all the regular stage last 5 minute, period. And it clash so hard with how bullshit some of the robot master are to fight...when you dont have their weakness, they became a jock after that

The final stage is ok, but the final boss is so easely breakable, especially if you have energy tank

And i dont get AT ALL why people love the story so much: its so, so basic, and the only ok thing there is zero...BUT HIS SACRIFICE IS WORTHLESS NOW, BECAUSE, HELLO SEQUEL

This game is just...phenomenal in so many places...and i honestly dont know where to start... so, i guess i will start with the biggest strenght of this game: the scale of this game. This is. A gigantic and gorgeous open world game. On the fucking Nintendo Wii ! This game nail all the thing concerning a open world : interesting environment with rly good hidden area, gorgeous visual (especially satori swamp at night) and wonderful soundtrack, varied enemy, and rly good level design, that give you that envy of exploring everything right of the Gate. The only downside of the open world aspect are some of the quest, that revolve too much around collecting stuf....but other than that...this game is just mind blowing (and even for the quest part, some quest are just excellent, such as the reconstruction of colony 6)

A other great thing about this game is the gameplay : that sort of mix between a action rpg and turn based rpg is just genius: the gameplay as so many layer, and yet is oddly super easy to pick it up and to get the concept of everything. Plus all of the cast play super differently and can be usefull in, at least, some scénario (yes, even sharla)

Speaking of the cast: the characterisation is sometimes clichés, but as a whole, they are well written and super likable...surely not as much as celeste or red dead redemption 2 character, but still very good (except you Juju, obviously)

And good god, the story is great: sure, there is some slow part, and other part who are cliché as hell, but damn it, i wont spoil, but some of the revelation are just genius, and the story is just solid, im sorry

So yeah, im praising this game like if it was the best game ever made.... but why am i giving it "only" 4 star then?

Well, firstly, as i said, some of the side quest arent super enjoyable, because a lot of them are mindless collectathon

Secondly, because its a rpg, it as some rpg issue, such as a inventory that is quickly feels, or, and thats, by far, my biggest complain, some boss that are just too overpowered, and you just need to farm xp by doing boring quest or by killing random creature...yay

And btw, half of the boss are just bullshit, im sorry. Some just have frustating mechanic (such as hurting you if you attack them), or spawn billion of lil brat that will always quick your ass

But, even with all those complain, xenoblade chronicle still is a unbelievebly magical expérience, that will, despite his shortcoming, impact you at least at some degree
