Black Flag but without everything that made it cool. Adewale is the most boring badass ever.

Quite a goofy story, but honestly quite good overall given that it's just Black Flag but cold.

Way more dynamic and captivating than the first game, also way more complicated. This works in the game's favor for a time before becoming overwhelming to the point where all the fun is sucked out, even with a good parter. Hope one day I'll find someone to finish it with.

I played the first chapter of this before shelving it for nearly 5 years. It took a bit to get into the second time but once I did it was actually quite good, one of the better Assassin's Creed games. The combat is weird but actual fun side content with some of the easiest and most satisfying traversal in the series more than make up for it.

Maybe it's just because I had had enough after playing the base game and both DLCs to 100% completion back to back, but I was quite bored by the end of this. The different afterlife areas felt like a chore rather than something new and cool. Enemies with dog heads aren't too exciting when they still fight just like regular human enemies.

More of the same, which is a good thing for Origins. A newish setting and a lore-heavy story keep it fresh enough that it doesn't get too samey.

By far the best Assassin's Creed game - The dead family/revenge storyline may be way overdone but Bayek is the first protagonist in the series with real human emotions the player can really feel and get behind. A shame the final act of the game is so hastily thrown together and doesn't do the rest justice. Ancient Egypt is absolutely breathtaking and a joy to explore. The game's one major flaw other than the story falling apart near the end is the tedious loot system, but it's easy to forgive.

The highlight of the game is the setting and visual effects. The story is serviceable, Jin is fine. The gameplay starts off as fun but becomes a complete bore by the time you get halfway through the game. The world looks beautiful but really doesn't have much going on. The open world events are copy and paste, there's really only one type of enemy group, and there's maybe three different kinds of animal you can find. But damn it all looks pretty.

Far inferior to both its sequel and the previous Mortal Kombat 9, but a great first attempt by NetherRealm at making something non-Mortal Kombat.

Tons of fun when you're playing with someone who can hold their own. Incredibly frustrating when playing someone not so good. Completely unplayable solo.

The first two episodes of this are possibly the best content Odyssey has to offer. The third is a definite drop in quality but a satisfying conclusion nonetheless.

Episode 1 - Boring setting and story with annoying enemies and environmental mechanics. A chore to get through. 2/5

Episode 2 - The highlight of the DLC. The setting is intriguing and the side content is fantastic. All the Hades stuff is ham-fisted but interesting if nothing else. 4.5/5

Episode 3 - Middle of the road in terms of story and setting, somewhat forgettable but nothing inherently wrong with it. 3/5

Way too much going on, and that's not even taking DLC into account. With that said, the setting, characters, and story are all quite good... As long as you do as intended and play as Kassandra. It's a shame the developers were forced to include the far inferior male protagonist option. The biggest flaw of the world is the mercenary system - it doesn't make any sense and it's extremely annoying to fight off the procedurally generated damage sponges no matter where you go.

Nowhere near as good as I remember it being when I was a kid. The remaster's extremely saturated colors often ended up hurting my eyes. Exploring the different environments is still fun and the humor does land occasionally. It's a shame they couldn't get Clancy Brown for the remaster, Mr. Krabs's knockoff voice is extremely jarring.

Perfect for what it is - A free nostalgia trip that serves as a showcase of everything new with the PlayStation 5.
