Really great DLC which perfectly finished the Ethan arc of Resident Evil. It was quite on the shorter side, but I found parts of it pretty challenging and captivating. One gripe I do have is sometimes I found myself getting lost and not being quite sure where to go sometimes. Other than that, I do think it's definitely worth playing and had a lot of fun completing it, eventhough I slept on it since it released.

Thornheart you son of a fucking bitch you made us theorise for years but you swiped the floor with how fucking evil you are. Games story is fucking perfect but it's let down by crazily rushed voice overs (i know the point is bad voice acting haha but it's a valid critisism) and it's made in U4, there was not much care put into this as what I wanted but the story is what im going for and I challenge the people who played games such as the last of us, walking dead and resident evil to give this a shot, it will not disappoint you. I used to go for years hating this franchise cause it used to scare me as a kid in arcades, but after doing more and more research into it as I got older I realised how maginificent was and how underrated this classic from sega is.

One of the best games ever made. I believe that at least EVERYONE should play it once during their lifetime. It's a thought-provoking piece of media.. I even feel guilty typing this review. Find out why ;)

A true, horror experience. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, and was a perfect lengh for me. I'm definitely looking forward to the movie.

Apart from a few minor things, this is a MASTERPIECE.

This is an in depth review of The Quarry, so sit back, relax and read. I'm also someone who's never played Until Dawn either, so this is my first experience with a Supermassive Games game. If you can't be bothered to read the paragraphs, there's a TLDR at the bottom!

The Quarry is what I love about a choices matter type game. Fast paced, and will make you question your morals and decision making, as some decisions can be fatal. For example, my dumbass got 4 characters killed, and one of those wasn't even intentional. I'll explain more about that as I get into this review.

My pros for the game include having lots of character development. I mostly got attatched to the main cast of The Quarry, eventhough general American highschool humour isn't really in my best interest. Another thing is the QTEs really keep you on your feet, but the only downside is there's a few times where I wouldn't even consider putting a QTE, like catching keys. The story is certainly gripping to start to finish, which leaves you wanting more and more. It all unravels and keeps you entertained for sure. The graphics are visually stunning, and everything looked super realistic which is such small praise in this day and age, but it doesn't hurt to compliment what's there. I will say, this could definitely be enjoyed singleplayer, but instead of playing the multiplayer mode, just get your friends in a discord call and stream it so you can discuss choices, which is what I did.

Now, here's the downsides. Number one, straight from the start, the music choices can be downright awful. The song that was playing right at the beginning just did not fit right, and there's a few occasions where me and my friends just said "What the hell is this song? Why is it here?". Another thing is well.. Some of the choices you make, don't even matter? For example, there's a choice you have to make where you can either shout or stay quiet and if you choose to stay quiet, the character just shouts anyway.. It's super dumb. The other choice is where a certain character says he doesn't want to go to the campfire with the other characters, yet decides to join them? Honestly, these were the only two choices that me and my friends spotted where it really made absolutely no sense, don't let this critique put you off the entire game because trust me, everything else matters. To add, the game does tend to freeze a lot. I was having to spam that pause button every single time the scene changed cause the screen would freeze, dialogue would be out of place and it wouldn't lip sync probably. This would also happen during an important mechanic where you have to hold your breath in order to stay hidden. This happened once and I failed the QTE because of it, but thankfully that was the only one I did fail. I will say, my PC is about 5 years old, so that's probably why it was messing up so much, but I have seen other people complain with newer systems, so it's hard to tell. Finally, I will say that don't expect to fully understand the story if any of the characters die. I had a few die on my first run, so I'm gonna have to do another to figure out some parts of the plot. It's not that bad of a negative, because there's plenty of opportunities to take up that you may have not done. I was going to do another run regardless if all the characters survived, but that can be a negative experience for people who are simply playing for plot points.

If you can't be bothered to read all of that, here's the TLDR:

Pros:
- Amazing graphics
- Great characters sprinked with a lot of development throughout the game
- Gripping and engaging story
- Good QTE usage, with some weird ones
- Can be enjoyed alone or with others

Cons:
- Constant freezing. Could be due to my 5 year old PC, though.
- Two choices don't matter. Potentially could be more, but that's what me and my friends picked up on.
- Weird music placement sometimes.
- Plot holes if characters don't survive.

My final thoughts are honestly, this is an amazing game and definitely one of the best choices matter games out there. I think a lot of people have set a high standard compared to Until Dawn, because I hear that game is spectacular, but again, from someone who's never experienced that, The Quarry is an absolutely superb game with just a few niggles from my part. I got this game for £25, and I think it's worth it for that price. I definitely don't think it's worth the full price tag, £25 is satisfactory for what it delivers.

As of writing this review, the current patch for Endwalker is at 6.2, which is part of the post-endwalker story.

So far, this is the best expansion out of all of them in my opinion. It puts you straight in the action, and has argubaly the best areas in the game. The mechanics for each dungeon/trial are very unique, with a lot of flavour in each dungeon/trial thus far.

It is a perfect conclusion to this storyline. I couldn't of asked it any better. Thank you for this wonderful journey, Square.

Probably one of the best gaming experiences. It also granted the introduction of Emet-Selch, the best gaming villian of all time for me. An enemy who you feel empathy for, but can hate just as much. Definitely in my top 10 games.

Definitely not as good as Heavensward, but the build up was great. Extremely memorable characters.

A much higher upgrade from A Realm Reborn. A lot of action packed story with some memorable characters.

"A smile better suits a hero."

This game is a perfect continuation of RE7. While gameplay changes from different section, and some stuff is tedious, the plot fit together nicely, and really made me emotional. I'm looking forward to the DLC in October!

Eventhough I'm mostly a pussy with horror games, I decided to try RE7 to see if I'd like it. While I'm not great with jumpscare horror, I was able to get through this game rather well.

The high for this game is most definitely the story, it flows throughout and all ties up together nicely at the end.

The critiques I give this game are, without spoilers, the last half of the game, and most definitely the repeat of the same enemies, over and over again.. It can get a bit repetitive and annoying.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this to someone who wants to delve themselves in a true horror experience.

A brutually honest rating from me.

The gameplay at the start of ARR was probably the worst gaming experience I've ever had...

However!

That changed in the last parts of ARR and post ARR. The cutscenes were compelling, and storytelling for me was a lot easier to understand. It redeemed itself, and I can't wait for Heavensward.

Edit: I will also mention, my friends were the ones who spurred me to play this game. If it wasn't for them, I would've never touched it or been persuaded to continue.

It's an amazing game... Please play it! You're in for a treat.

A great co op game for you and a friend. The ending is definitely bitter sweet, so prepare yourself.
