while staying as true to the original plot as possible, it still manages to create a super super intricate and interesting play on that original story.

yuffie deserves her own shoutout for how funny she is, she realllyy fills in a personality gap from the main cast and does it so well. cait sith also deserves a mention here bcs of how silly and funny (and cute ngl) he was.

annoying characters also became so lovable... (especially cids personality not just being arghhh i hate women and my wife)

the team also clearly held their respect for the original soundtrack sooo well, some of the takes of the original songs were amaaazing.

looking sooo forward to part 3 so we can find out wtf is actually going on with the timelines. i think this game will get GOTY and rightfully so :)

it's really sad that there are people who dont play old games because of graphics. this is not only a masterpiece for games but instead for the world of fiction. one of the most memorable and important cast, villain, music and story of all time

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is hyped for a reason. The graphics, gameplay, dialogue and music all are absolutely top tier.

The plot quickly elevates from just 'Ouhh bad guys doing x and y we need to stop them' to more and more intricate layers (which are best not mentioned due to spoilers).

My only gripe with this game is that some segments are just boring and dragged out for far too long, especially when in comparison to the OG. It's wonderful to have more in depth character exploration but the game made me suicidal far too many times (that train segment was dragged far too long.)

The combat is typically smooth but it can be very unrewarding. The game doesn't get easier the better you may be when it comes to reaction times, but this is not something to expect from a final fantasy game anyway.

For the first entry in a trilogy, it was enough to warrant yourself to be interested in the next game. Hopefully rebirth will clean up the confusing story elements towards the end, for those of us who haven't finished/played the OG yet.
