I thought the first one was too short, and had hoped its success would mean a lot more for this sequel... Turns out there's a lot less! But I think I liked it more anyway. Funny thing that.

An all ages death game apocalypse adventure from the creators of Zero Escape and Danganronpa. It’s younger audience and cast lightens those games usual themes, and the platforming is pretty simple, though you die a lot. I had a good time.

Bayonetta has one hell of a combat system and it's no surprise people get excited when they see Platinum Games working on an action title. Nier Automata fans represent! That shit wouldn't exist without Bayonetta.

Is this a game? Or an art installation? Or a game about art installations? Is it about debt and the struggle to find a place to belong when time (and capitalism)inevitably takes all you have away from you? Will we overcome...?

It's... Psychonauts 2. And that says a lot. It fits squarely in that category of a game that can't exist outside of its medium. It really speaks to the timelessness of the original's design that the 16 year gap between the two titles now feels nonexistent

While I have a history with the first, I had never played this game until now. I didn't expect them to change up the formula so much, making it absurdly more difficult at points. I fear the inevitable third entry playthrough.

A ground up remake of the second game in the Yakuza franchise. Yakuza quickly became one of my favourite series' when I played Yakuza 0 in October 2017. The core story is completely unchanged after 12 years and holds up remarkably well.

This game tore me apart and pieced me back together. It’s about the human condition, coming to terms with death, being a video game character. I await the second campaign and really hope all the bugs get fixed by then. Crashed like 20 times. Worth it though

A 2D Mario masquerading as a 3D Mario. Played entirely multiplayer and almost entirely as Peach. Peach was my main back on Mario 2 for the S/NES when I was a wee babbu, you see. Probably second favourite Mario now after Yoshi's Island.

You tell me you're gonna make a SotN style Castlevania game because Konami refuse to, and I'll probably play it. Also have a great time doing so. Cool they keep adding free updates, but it made me wait a long time to play.

I'm gonna give two arcade games I finished on the same night the same review. This style of beat-em-up is trashy as all hell and not fun to play unless you do it in multiplayer, which 95% of the time I don't have access to.

It was dumb and weird and legitimately has the best acting performances in a video game. Mads brought his A game to that absurd script. The real Death Stranding was the friends we made along the way, none of whom gave you likes for your highway.

I have a lot to say about this game as a fan of both Yakuza and FotNS. Arguably the best part is the casting of Yakuza alumni as titular characters. Kiryu/Ken. Majima/Jagi. Ryuji/Raoh and much more. It's just perfect casting.

If anything let it down, it was the furious desire to mix classic storylines with new ones, all focuses in the one small town. The new characters designs were more Jojo than Hokuto.

RE4 holds up. It's an incredibly rare example of a game that has barely aged over the last 15 years, since a lot of its mechanics remain standard today. It also looks really damn good. Very hard opening to set the standard, but it never gets harder.

Far easier without tank controls and incredibly short. It is actually just Resident Evil with samurai though and didn't really find its identity until the second game. They should remaster the rest though because it was worth the revisit.
