This is as Spider-Man as it gets. Swinging never felt so good.

A decent, detailed look into Hogwarts, but one that eventually falls flat.

+ A very intricate and deep look into the most confusing building complex in fantasy stories.
+ Decent variety of activites, flying is fun, so is building and animal collection.
- The story is formulaic, very bland and predictable. The entire game has this veneer of mediocrity that it can't get rid of. I think it would have been a lot better had they just removed the character creation, made Hogwarts in modern day and put HP characters in it. Without that connection to the book series, this is just a very beautiful Hogwarts architectural case study with a pulp fiction story around it.

The Hogwarts castle and Hogsmeade were amazing, but when I set foot in the rest of the Open World the magic faded away (pun intended). The game then became a generic Ubisoft open world. The story was okay. I think the game captured the Harry Potter vibe well. 7/10

Hogwarts Legacy is a game that makes no sense for someone like me who has watched the movies and read the books a bit. It is a game made entirely for Potterheads for fan service purposes. You need to be blinded by Harry Potter to enjoy this game. When you look at the details objectively, you realize that it is a mediocre game that neither offers a good adventure story nor a real RPG depth.

+ Captures the “magic” and lore of the books and films brilliantly
+ Beginning hours were intriguing and fun
+ Room of Requirement was a great change of pace at first
+ Riding the broom is great

- Combat soon grows stale
- Weak story with uninteresting characters
- Boring world activities not worth doing
- Unrewarding gear system with pointless upgrades and constant bombardment of new stuff

Pretty much the exact kind of open world game I always get bored of halfway through and stop playing.

Once the magic of exploring Hogwarts wears off, and you're confronted with the expansive and mostly samey open world beyond, you can quickly grow bored with it. Still, the side storylines were strong enough to carry a lot of the game for me.

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the games that I've been most hyped about in years. I was a Harry Potter fan when I was a teenager, and the idea of an RPG game set in Hogwarts couldn't excite me more.

Besides all that, shortly after its release, I was on vacation in New York City. In the Big Apple, I reconnected with this franchise by visiting the official store and attending the Broadway play. It couldn't be a better time to return to Hogwarts.

But talking about the game, I can say that it didn't meet my expectations, but it's not a bad game. It's definitely one of the best games of the year (2023) and the best product of the Wizarding World, excluding the original seven books.

As for the gameplay, I can say it's pretty good. To be honest, despite my hype, this was the part I had reservations about. The last Harry Potter games based on the movies were generic shooters, but that's not the case here. It still feels like a shooter, but much better than I was expecting.

The story is pretty good, second only to the original seven books. The game is about a new Hogwarts student who enters the school in the fifth year and has the ability to harness ancient magic. To be honest, it feels like the story was created to make the game possible, with its mechanics and the idea that it wouldn't be fun to play as a first-year child who doesn't know anything about magic.

By the way, it was a good idea to set this game a hundred years before the Harry Potter saga to disconnect from the characters we already know and allow those who have no connection with Harry Potter to enjoy the game.

The best part of the game is its atmosphere. It's really cool to return to Hogwarts. The entire world is very well done, but the school is the best part.

Hogwarts Legacy is the best Harry Potter game ever and one of the best things the franchise has offered in years. I truly recommend it to anyone, even if you don't have any connection to the saga. It's a pretty good game on its own.

oh, no. 🥺

Dr. CONNORS' CLASS!

i got so caught up in what i was doing, i forgot all about it 😲

he's gonna kill me!!! 😖😓

This review contains spoilers

he destroys the macguffin at the very end of the story

It's sad that most people ignore this game even though it's part of the franchise. and in my opinion, the best one. Especially with it's themes and how it portrayed the Reapers (Sovereign) and the Protheans (Statue with a tentacle-creature labeled "Prothean)

The exploration may get tedious for some people but i didn't do it cause i HAD to as a completionist, but i did it cause i FELT like doing it. it eases the mind after a hard trek with the Gang. it was....relaxing.

Story was Great. characters and world-building even better. loved every bit of this game. Thank you for this. 10/10

A rain-slicked city on the verge of collapse. An invading alien force seeking to destroy humanity. A squadron of ODST soldiers scattered amongst the ruins. And one rookie attempting to solve a mystery in the middle of all this. This is a markedly different approach to how Bungie had set up their Halo stories up to this point, and I think it works marvelously. The gameplay is as great as ever (by this stage in the series they had it perfected), so the real distinguishing factor from the original trilogy is the atmosphere. The overall tone of the game is such a standout from the rest of the series in that it isn’t a grandiose romp through a bright and mythic world. Instead, it is a slow and steady tread through dark streets that feel haunted by the ghosts of the people who once lived there. Seeing the remnants of the city in ruins, finding Sadie’s audio files, and uncovering clues to your teammate’s locations does so much to help this entry in the series standout. Unfortunately, the cool tone that is established at the start of the game doesn’t necessarily last since we do go back to a big space adventure for a couple of levels and for the entirety of the final level. This isn’t bad (it is Halo after all), but it does leave me wishing that we stayed in the noir atmosphere a bit longer. That and the story just sort of ends without leaving much of an impact on me. This is understandable though since this is a backdrop to the main Master Chief story so it couldn’t be a world shattering story. This is still an impressive entry in the series for me just because it does so much despite being a smaller game. It doesn’t push the series forward substantially, but it doesn’t have to and it’s great for what it is. Overall, very happy I finally beat it and looking forward to wrapping up other entries in the series soon.

Fantastic. Even 18 years later it still holds up as a completely engaging gaming experience. The only thing that felt dated were the graphics and really why bother complaining about that when the game came out in 03? It’s still one of the best gaming experiences of all time with an incredible story, truly fleshed out characters, and gameplay that was surprisingly fun to dive into. This is my first time playing this game and it still felt fresh, even by today’s standards. It’s one of those rare games that the moment it was over I wanted to start it all over again…. And I have. Looking forward to my 100% play through now. The fact that it’s a Star Wars games just makes it that much better. It feels very much in line with the themes and ideals of the films, but still etched its own place within the ever expanding universe. It adds hefty weight to the mythology of the force and expands the universe in a way I didn’t even know I wanted. Separating itself from the Skywalker Saga is definitely a smart move and one of the game’s greatest strengths. Really it’s just an all around blast to play that I was constantly excited to dive back into. Hours just melted away while playing and I’m so glad I finally got to experience this masterclass in storytelling.

i loved what this game did with text overlays.
