A good roguelike, but a little underwhelming. After a handful of playthroughs it starts to feel repetitive and easy. I wish there were more variety in boss fights especially, as aside from the final boss there are only three you can fight. There's not much in terms of lore and story, which is a shame as I love the lore in this series.

Negatives aside though, this is a good DLC. I like the roguelike approach, and it was fun climbing the tower with different palettes. I just wish it had a little more. Octo Expansion is still the best singleplayer mode we have ever gotten in Splatoon, in my opinion.

Insomniac delivered. This game is (almost) everything I loved from SM1 and Miles, with new features to improve and add onto the combat and web swinging.

I do have a few complaints and nitpicks. My main issue is that I wish the main story was a little longer. The length isn't bad, but the third act feels rushed and I think at least a few more missions would have really helped with the pacing. I think the side quests could also have been fleshed out more. I found most of them to be repetitive after a while or not very interesting gameplay-wise, and the hunter blinds aren't as interesting or fun as the variety of enemy bases in the first game, in my opinion. On top of that, when you finish the main story + side quests there's nothing left to do. The city feels empty.

Overall though, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. This is still a great game and if you're a Spider-Man fan, it's a must play.

Ten years later and still an incredible game. I've played the story countless times and spent countless hours online. It has its issues, but I'll always love this game.

My childhood. I played this and Banjo-Tooie all the time on the 360 as a kid. As an adult, this game still holds up to me. I could go on and on about the gameplay, the visuals, the soundtrack. It's one of my all time favorites. This game just oozes with charm, and it's impossible for me to play it without a smile on my face. Is it perfect? No, but it holds up very well and deserves to be considered one of the greatest 3D platformers of all time.

I had held off on playing this game for a lomg time as I wasn't typically fond of harder games, but this just so happened to become one of my all time favorites. The art style, the animations, the variety of weapons, the ultra satisfying parry, the very memorable soundtrack. I mean it's Cuphead, what more do I need to say? My only real "issue" is that it's very short, but damn the time I spent with this game was an absolute delight. The DLC is great, too.

In terms of quality, I think Sonic Colors is one of the more polished and solid Sonic games. The level design is solid, the boost gameplay is fun, the wisps make for a fun gimmick that add variety to the gameplay, the visuals are stunning for a Wii game, and the soundtrack is amazing as you would come to expect from a Sonic game. That all being said, it's not my favorite in the series. It misses some of the charm and attitude that's present in other Sonic games. I feel like in this game, Sonic Team played it very safe, with the writing feeling like something out of a Saturday morning kids cartoon. That's not always a bad thing, but I feel like it doesn't belong in a Sonic game. On top of that, while the level design is solid I don't think it reaches the highs of other Sonic games. Sonic Adventure 2 and Unleashed for example; while they are flawed, the story and writing were far more interesting, and while not all the levels were amazing, the ones that were really stood out. I just don't think Colors reaches the highs that are seen in the other games.
Overall though, this is a good game! It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's a fun time.

I grew up playing this game so I'm somewhat biased, but in retrospect I realize this game is quite flawed. The controls constantly feel like you're on ice, the game is glitchy, sometimes mechanics just don't work, the fact you have to play through the same levels FOUR times to unlock the final story is crazy. I could go on and on about the issues with this game. That all being said however, this game isn't that bad. The overall presentation is great for its time, and the soundtrack is just iconic. The gameplay is actually pretty fun if you can look past the slippery controls.
Maybe it's nostalgia bias, but despite its flaws I still have a soft spot for Heroes and I'll always appreciate the positives of this game.

It's more Spider-Man, but this time a shorter and smaller-scaled story focused on Miles. The story and characters didn't hook me as much as the previous game, but nonetheless I had a good time with this one.

Incredibly fun gameplay with some of the best combat I've experienced in any game, great story and characters, top notch voice acting, plenty of side activities and collectibles in the open world that you can occupy yourself with, a shit ton of suits you can unlock from across the Spider-Man series, this game has it all. It's not quite perfect, not all of the side activities hit (fuck you Screwball) but everything else about this game is super solid and I had a great time with it. I can't wait for Spider-Man 2.

The quarantine game. I spent 250+ hours on this, most of that time being within the first few months of release. It's just a cozy little life sim that you can sink hours into. It could use more content, but considering the hours I got out of this game, I can't really complain.

Not perfect by any means, but this was a game I just couldn't put down. The controls were a little janky, often times I got lost, the difficulty can be brutal at times, but despite its flaws, the positives were strong enough to make this experience worth playing through. I found the combat quite enjoyable, and I enjoy the customization of your party's abilities. The story is pretty simple (and clean) but it kept me invested. The soundtrack is iconic, I found it to be very memorable and often times the music gets stuck in my head. Exploring the Disney worlds were also fun.
This game definitely has its flaws, but the positives were strong enough that I can't help but love it. The ultimate cozy JRPG for me.

I kinda see this as the black sheep of the GTA series, or at least the mainline games. The story is much darker with a more gritty setting, the driving feels more like a realistic racing sim, and the scale is considerably cut back compared to San Andreas. Is any of that a bad thing, though? I think that depends on who you ask, but I would say no. GTA 4 went in a very different direction than what many fans of the series were anticipating, but I personally love the direction they took. The story and writing here are top notch and arguably the best in the series. I found myself loving and enjoying any character that was on screen. The map, while it may not be as big or interesting as San Andreas, was very well designed and felt like a living and breathing interpretation of New York City. The more realistic and stiff driving controls weren't something that bothered me, as I personally enjoyed it and I think it's very satisfying once you get used to it. That being said though, I do agree with others that the bikes don't feel good to use. The gunplay and combat however, I would say is a big improvement.
There were a couple things in this game that I wasn't too fond of. For one, I found the missions to sometimes feel repetitive and boring. Sometimes it felt like I was just doing side quests that involved the typical driving to a destination, and gunning down some people. I'm also not a fan of the collectibles you have to find to complete the game, but this is only optional and not required if you just want to play the story or mess around in the open world. Overall though, I can't say I had many issues with this game.
I haven't even mentioned everything, like the side activities, the cheat codes, or the hilariously fun swingset glitch. This game is jam packed with content and things to do, and the attention to detail is insane. I would expect nothing less from a GTA game, though.

One of the best FPS games I've ever played

A cute and fun PlayStation love letter. I just wish it was longer

Easily the best in the classic Sonic trilogy. The level design here is the most consistent in terms of quality, as I found nearly every zone to be fun and well designed. There is plenty of speed with different routes and secrets as rewards for exploring. It's not perfect still, as for example some levels tend to drag on, but it's far better compared to Sonic 1 and 2 and the low points don't quite reach the lows of those games. The special stages here are easily the best in the trilogy, as they are far more fun and balanced compared to those in the previous games. Combine that with the true final boss you get for getting all chaos or super emeralds, it makes the special stages actually worth playing through. The soundtrack is amazing as you would come to expect, and I find several tunes to get stuck in my head. (I'm looking at you Ice Cap, Hydrocity, and Flying Battery) this game also has a surprising amount of story and cutscenes for a Sega Genesis game, which really adds to the adventure and makes it feel more grandiose and cinematic.

There's really a lot to be said about Sonic 3 & Knuckles. This game is surprisingly deep and ambitious for a Sega Genesis game and it holds up extremely well. If you're a fan of Sonic and/or platformers, this title is a must play. (Played via Sonic Mega Collection Plus)
