Persona 3 surprisingly got a lot out a remake than I thought it would. The modern coat of paint really made me glad I could actually play through it instead of experiencing youtube video like back in the day.
That being said, its still got pacing issues. Some of the available stuff to do on certain days really punishes you for not thinking twelve steps ahead on regards to social links. Just tip: prioritize school links because you’ll have plenty of time for the others on days off.
Gameplay add some necessary buffs to Ken and Koromaru, making the whole cast feel more well rounded. Pour one out for Akihiko though. My man got gimped bad. Also I cheered when I saw Shiki-Ouji available and cried when I realized Yoshimitsu is not in the game.
With all that being said, some highlights include Junpei and Chidori’s relationship, Bebe, Akinari, and Yuko’s links, and the theurgy animations.
If you have any interest in picking this up, give it a shot

A story with plenty of beautiful moments. Highlights being Ichiban meeting his mom, the Gondowara sidequest, and any Memoir of the Dragon. Not to mention compelling villains. The ending had me pumping my fist
The gameplay is a noticeable step up as the game rewards you much better for experimenting with jobs. The positioning and combo systems add a lot of depth too. Wish it was less stingy on the gear though.
That being said, the pacing is unbearable. The side stories are very front loaded where as getting all your combat tools is very back loaded.
Presentation wise, graphics are stuck in the ps4 era. Not saying they look bad, but its noticeable. When the game goes for it it looks pretty. Music is also legendary. Dub was also pretty good. Highlight was Matt Yang King as Tomizawa. Dude made the character.
