It’s absolutely hideous but I love it. The moment to moment gameplay is the best it’s ever been - I’m worried that the negative backlash to this will send them in the wrong direction, when what I’d really like is them to tighten up a lot of these mechanics. Realistically they’re going to want to release another game in 2024/25 on whatever console is out at that point - I just hope they take their time with it and get it more polished than this. That aside - this is a brilliant game, even the story is surprisingly good. The only other issue I have is with the level scaling. “Do anything in whatever order” doesn’t really work when you have a level 60 Slowking and the last gym you face is all level 10 mice pokemon. There’s also a bit where you cross a tiny bridge from one identical section to another and the other side of the bridge has pokemon 30 levels above the other side. Fix that and we’re grand.
