A good sonic game in the last decade? Impossible. Still though, I really enjoyed Frontiers. Despite my problems with it, it’s the best 7/10 I played. That boss OST is a fucking banger and I love it.

One of the best I’ve played this past decade

2019

Man I can’t even play this. it’s that hard. It’s like they didn’t even learn anything from what made Frontiers good, despite its flaws. New characters control like actual ass, challenges are so hard to the point where they are borderline impossible. Trials all feel really rushed and slapped together and it shows.

I haven’t finished it yet, but here’s where some spoilers start for the gameplay:

A BOSS RUSH AT LEVEL 1 SUPER SONIC?
NO RINGS SPAWN, RING COUNT PERSISTS AFTER EACH BOSS? YOU ONLY GET 400 RINGS FOR 3 BOSSES! How on earth did they look at that and go “Yeah fuck it, ship it”.

You gotta be frame perfect and it’s so insanely difficult it almost feels like it was done out of spite. I’m waiting for a patch or mod that makes this easier.

AC6 was difficult, specifically Balteus, and that is MUCH easier in comparison imo.

2023

Well it’s still a racing game at the end of the day. Better than last years by a MILE. Other than that, handling is so much better than 22, and I’m glad they kept the solo career mode from last years game. I got a soft spot for it.

Christ, this is REALLY good. No spoilers, PLAY IT.

Genuinely think this is one Fromsoft’s best.

It's a fun racing sim with a fantastic modding community, and when you can get the Ultimate edition for under $20, it's perfect. However, it's one that you WILL need a racing wheel to fully enjoy, as general controller steering is WAY too sensitive. The UI (even with mods) is clunky and confusing, and it feel's like i'm navigating a 2000's flash game menu. If you have a racing wheel, pick it up. Otherwise, just play GT7 if you have a controller.

It's fun, albeit everyone will think you are a psychopath.

The original Mafia is widely regarded as an underrated classic, and I think definitive edition translates the original game to the modern age extremely well. While the gameplay is a bit clunky, the visuals are outstanding, voice acting is great, and the story, at least for me anyway, is one of my favourite's, up there with RDR2. For me, it's one of the best remakes a game can get.

The Developers shadow-dropping a game that's completely different than what they're used to, and it being extremely good is WILD. I'd argue and say it's Tango's best work period.

Fantastic platformer that absolutely nails the artstyle of a 90's nick show, and combines it with Warioland-style gameplay. I love the humour, the crazy artstyle, everything.

I'm playing this through the Steam Deck and it work's near perfectly, aside from some very slight slowdown when things get hectic.

Putting the drama behind the development of the game aside, I REALLY wanted to like Atomic Heart, but I can't. No FOV slider, subtitles are crazy small, game-play can be a janky mess, and the protagonist is flat-out unlikable, I'd even say it rivals the protagonist from Forspoken in terms of being THAT unlikable. The writing is garbage. It feels like it is trying to appeal to teenage boys, and if you got to a certain point in the first 2 hours (which are unbelievably slow by the way), you'll know what I mean. The only positive about the game are the designs. I will say, they absolutely nailed a Euro-futuristic-whatchamacallit aesthetic with the world design, and robots.

There are much better games with similar settings that are well worth your time. Such as the Metro and Stalker series. Especially with Stalker 2 slated to come out soon(hopefully), it's better to support them, instead of buying Atomic Heart.

To me, this is the pinnacle of Mech games.
