This game feels tailor-made for the DS/3DS touchscreen that was seeing heavy use through like 2018, why did this series flame out so quickly? The surgery games were fun!

This game really nailed that feeling of being just populated enough with small enough side quests that I could easily lose hours and hours to playing it without noticing as I try to clear everything out. But looking back it feels kinda empty, I can remember very little from both this or its sequel beyond skating along on power lines.

I wish I could agree with the internet at-large about this game, that it's all misunderstood genius. Sure, plenty of it is! It's very unique and memorable with an interestingly told story and a great protagonist. But this is still a video game, something I have to interact with, and the "game" parts of this just felt like boring nonsense to me. I'll give the sequel a shot but I'm not going to push this on my friends or anything.

Pretty wild that this sex-heavy game basically plays like Q-Bert. It was fun but has already aged very poorly.

At some point I should get back to this series, I never came back after this masterpiece. It sounds like it goes downhill quick though.

1993

I kind of wish I played this when it first came out, as its definitely something I would have enjoyed. Unfortunately it was a bit too dated by the time I got around to it. I love the recent reboots though.

We at the network want a prince with attitude. He's edgy, he's "in your face." You've heard the expression, "let's get busy"? Well, this is a prince who gets "biz-zay!" Consistently and thoroughly.

A mediocre horror game with a fantastic gimmick.

One of the most charming platformers of its crowded era. Doles out upgrades at a perfect pace, great memorable levels, a fun sense of humor. Loses half a star for a needless trivia-based final level.

Not the most inventive Zelda game, but quick and fun and still worth a play.

Incredible design and some great storytelling, all designed around an ingenious new mechanic. It's great!

Maybe not the best fighting game ever, but I really loved the character design and variety at play here.

A solid follow-up that provided the iconic scene of the franchise. You know what I'm talking about.

I probably would have liked this more if I was into the whole "build your own game!" idea. No! That's your job!

A very strong MetroidVania game. Where's the sequel?
