Games I could play for 50+ years
Games I consider to be able to play 2k hour+ without getting bored
- Includes games with an active modding scene.
- Doesn't include games with good replayability solely from speedrunning or any mindless grinding.

20 Games
Do I really need to elaborate
Do I need to elaborate 2D edition
fun fact: this game makes for one of the craziest most fun bullet hell to turn into with mods

The updates kept me going back way too many times.
It's stardew, I can play 50 hours in a week without realising.

If you enjoy the building/crafting elements in games like Minecraft, Terraria, etc.. and want a more J-RPG oriented take on sandbox with the casual cozy vibe and NPC interactions of Stardew valley, PLAY THIS GAME.
Dragon quest builders 2 is surprisingly one of my favorite games and I dare to say I never felt happier playing a video game in my life.

Some added features like crafting, decorating exteriors, terraforming etc.. makes it impossible to go back to previous AC games for me.
At the same time ACNL still feels like a more cohesive, more complete package and new horizons feels lacking on some aspects.

The ultimate modding scene. You can turn this game into a fromsoftware title or a dating sim if you want, and don't underestimate the amount of polish these mods have.
The dedication is crazy and the modding scene for Skyrim might as well be as important historically for the industry than the game itself.
(wouldn't include Morrowind or Oblivion in this list personally but those games also have a very dedicated modding fanbase)

An incredibly fun game to mod.
Weak on its own, light years behind Fallout new vegas and the first 2 games storywise imo but its cheer amount of content (building mecanics, weapons, companion system...) makes it the funniest fallout game to play custom quests and add mods to experiment with.

You'll study urbanism and learn about road work to play this game, not the other way around.
Takes around 1k hours to grasp a sense of confidence in what you make.
Not for everyone, I find it exhilarating.
Probably the most subjective game to criticize, a lot of arguments people address against the game can go both ways depending on who you are.

Tetris is a perfect game concept with 40 years of polish on its back
puyopuyo's pretty fun
they go well together
I could've pick any good Tetris game but puyopuyo tetris 1 & 2 sure are great ways to start a video game addiction.

Any Trackmania would do, this is the one I played the most along with TMNF.
It's easier to put thousands of hours into a free software community driven PC rhythm game with 4 game modes and an highly active playerbase than an arcade cabinet.
Besides its insane speedrunning potential I'll ignore for the sake of this list, and its 100% completion that will solely take you a couple hundreds of hours (if you go for 202 berries), it's the custom maps and all the amazing community made stuff that stretch this games playtime to oblivion.
Might as well getting licensed as an interior designer, you'll spend as much time as playing this.
Still my favorite AC game I think, might be a hot take, not sure, god I love acnl.
I'm more willing to spend 2k hours on this than any other MMOs I've played
It's super mario maker 2 on the nintendo switch
Includes the whole franchise, but I might as well put the game I spent the most hours into.
One of the most recent MH games I have played; it's more there to represent the overall franchise, I could spend that much time on most of its games.
As barebone as THPS gets, I'd say it's more there to represent the whole franchise but still, THUG PRO is life.
The only game in the list I haven't actually played yet, I keep it there as a reminder that I'll probably succumb for it someday, and give my life to it.
