parappa is one cool dude and the presentation and music are sweet but god this is up there for some of the worst fucking gameplay i've ever played

killer gameplay but literally unreadable dialogue

After talking with my roommate and googling about games that are similiar to Pikmin, I was reminded of Katamari, so the next day I decided to give it a try and this game is awesome. The aesthetic and weirdness sort of remind me of something that would be in Wario Ware and the gameplay does fit in similiarly to something like Pikmin. Everything about this game has so much charm to it that I really appreciate and I loved every second of my time with it. The soundtrack and humor were really really great and the final few levels were so crazy and fun. Awesome game, 9/10.

Really fun experience with fantastic controls and visuals, but the bugs, the janky bosses, and the sometimes repetitive level design definitely hurt this game a good bit, and I wish there was somehow a little more variety in the little tasks too. I genuinely cannot get over how good the controls feel; like a combination between SMG2 Yoshi, Super Mario Odyssey, and Sonic Adventure all rolled into one tight movement system. I don't really have a ton to say besides this game unfortunately is going to be underrated for the year, and I hope one day it gets the attention it deserves. Just a great time overall.

someone said something about this game feeling like Oscar bait but for video games and they were definitely right

For everything good there is one or two things that are bad

2016

This game is loads of fun and it feels great to play, but the game does get pretty repetitive and I got disappointed when I got the achievement for glory killing all enemy types at like the half way point in the game. I played through a good bit of the original Doom a few years back and I think that style of game was a lot more enjoyable for me than this was, but I'll come to finish the original eventually then I'll do a better comparison. I don't really have much else to say besides I liked it and I am looking forward to playing Doom Eternal.

One of the most lovely nature-focused atmospheres in any game I've played. While the 30 day timer does stress me out, it made for very unique gameplay where I don't really know if there is anything like it in the series. I love the feeling of the "race to the finish" gameplay and it makes this game feel incredibly fast paced. The final trial, while short, was a pretty cool puzzle that felt like a good conclusion to the journey. My only gripe with the game is mainly the pikmin AI, it got INCREDIBLY frustrating at some points, especially during the forest navel. Most of the time though, the AI is at least functional enough. Anyways, I'm really glad I checked out this entry in the series and I can't wait to play 2 and 3!

It's basically just undertale but 60 hours long if you really think about it.

I liked the atmosphere and general vibe of the game. But this game practically plays out as a movie that you slowly and tediously walk through. Even with the text choices, it doesn't really seem like much of it matters besides for the different voice lines or character/location names. The story was alright, nothing crazy. Overall, I enjoyed it but the four hours that this game is it can tend to drag on.

Great game and perfect length. The presentation is awesome and the combat is pretty fun. I liked the story and it covered some pretty serious topics, definitely going to watch a youtube video to explain everything though since I didn't see what was possible with all of the different dialogue options, which was one of the coolest things in the game. The last few levels get a little tedious and repetitive but besides from that I really enjoyed my time with it.

This game is shockingly good, it took me a moment to actually get into it and get myself to want to keep playing, but once I get into it enough I was hooked. The combat is fantastic and feels like a 2D hack and slasher and the platforming sections were stellar and felt great. A lot of the platforming reminds me a lot of the final sections in Hollow Knights true ending, which I love. The story was intriguing enough, and the time related mechanics and anything to do with the curse was pretty cool. The only things I was kind of mixed on was the 3D art style (I loved the 2D portraits of the characters) and the ginormous difficulty spike after the fifth main quest. I won't hold the artstyle against it though because it's more of a personal preference if anything. Overall, this game is definitely going to be an underrated gem for 2024 and I really am glad I picked it up.
