One of my favorite castlevanias, i love the design of the castle and enemies, it can get a little easy with the QoL options of the advance collection but still worth the play

I got the “good” ending, but didn’t bother farming all of the souls.

spent a lot of time in bloody palace though, will come back to higher difficulties in a later time, but for now this is one of my favorite games and hack n slash of all time, royal guard ftw btw

Suddenly I started playing this hack n slash/character action game that I had in my backlog since I was in high school, back then I simply didn't have the ability to pass forward the Geryon boss battle in mission 12. Right now I'm on mission 19, have 13h+ log hours but a lot of them has been me playing bloody palace and re-playing missions to farm red orbs. This definitely has a high spot in my top 5 games of all time.

finished Yunica’s campaign. I liked it more than Hugo’s, and I started to appreciate the enemy design a lot more. I love the art style and how it combines with the engine. Definitely the type of Ys I personally enjoy the most.

Will come back later for my last play through as Claws.

some would say one of the best platformers in history, I could agree with that, I specially love the aesthetic that gives the idea of everything being a play, theatrical experience, the mechanics are on point and the world overview make this to feel like a whole adventure.

3 and a half hours. I tend to go nice on indie games, but I don't know if I want to keep trying with this one. It gives you 0 direction of where to go, you can spent hours searching in the same 4 islands without even knowing what you looking for. The combat is nice but combo system is limited considering how much hp the enemies have. And there's almost no music when you're exploring, just ambient sounds, it gets boring after a while.

Right after I published this log, I did a small advance in the story, will continue for a couple of hours more to see if it gets better.

the gameplay is mediocre at best and I didn't find the story appealing enough to continue.

It's fun, it's funny, and an overall improvement over the first one. In my childhood I only really played the 3rd one so I wanted to go back and experience the original trilogy, but if this is peak (according to comments and videos I've seen), that's enough for me.

Videogames shouldn't feel like a chore, and after 35 hours, this game started to feel like one, maybe I will go back to finish it, but at the start of the sixth chapter I decided to stop.

I have lots of respect for the Ys series, I like how it has managed to keep it refreshing with each iteration, but I think I'm better with Ys Origin style than 8s

Pretty good game, nice exploration, combat sometimes can feel like a button smasher, and the story is anime, plain and simple. So little to no reason for me to push through it, if I did it may affect the good image I have of the game, it's just not for me.

Some cheap deaths here and there, but not as hard as I thought it would be, music and aesthetics only get better with age

Good story, very twin peaks, but the gameplay gets old way too fast, some of the chapters were a drag to finish, I will probably going to see the rest of the story (dlc's) in youtube, and will play 2 later on.

Gave it like 80+ hours and I think it’s enough, it is fun but I now I get tired after 2 or 4 matches.

one of my personal favorite boomer shooters, i love the ambience and the gunplay is on point, it’s too short but I hope the creator continues giving support and content

So... to complete this game took me around 4 hours, it is short and if would've spent full price for this, my rating would be a lot lower, but if you get this on sale (as you should) is a very satisfying and compelling stealth action.

Hugo Fact story-line:
Jul 22 2023 - Aug 02 2023
took me about 9 hours to beat
Refreshing action JRPG, fast paced, nice story that intrigued me enough to follow up in the future with the rest of the characters, but the game suffers from taking place in its entirely inside the tower, that's why I feel like I need to play something else before starting over.

However, Ys series is something I want to experience, so that's nice.
Will come back later to update with the rest of storylines
