Mangled by technical issues but a better sequel in every way, they need to get their shit together technically for the inevitable next game. But I will still be there to play it, even if I have to wait for it to be fixed.

The ending hard carries this entire experience, Kiryu feels good but somehow nerfed in certain ways. Enemies will absolutely pummel you, blocking WILL not help. This game almost has the opposite problem of Yakuza 3 and even that game while simplistic, you can solve the problem by experimentation and just simply pressing circle.

one of the best credits in a game, ever

Everything from the classics you could want, even more on Mega Collection Plus on the PS2, which is where I played it all my childhood. This is how I experienced these classic games.

Clean, simple, beautiful. Not many out there like this one, a modern classic. The level of coolness on display here can be seen from miles away, the presentation and music are amazing. Play the game.

A very nothing game, it’s only positives are starting tropes that carry onward as the series progresses. This game is so fucking nothingburger. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake for the MSX is great and obliterates this one. Look up the story details and skip this game and move straight to MG2.

I completed The Final Horizon update for Sonic Frontiers. It’s a good but brutal update. I know the game is kicking a lot of peoples ass right now, it’s almost like an endurance test. Morio Kishimoto, director of Sonic Frontiers, has a history of making extremely easy Sonic games (Colors, Forces etc) and Frontiers is his last chance, he had said on twitter if this game fails he will be replaced. So he really took to fans criticisms and suggestions for Update 2 and 3. Update 2 had added a spindash with momentum, which was the biggest request at the time. Update 3 tackled the other biggest request, challenge. Many players complained the game was far too easy, and they were right. So it seems Kishimoto worked very hard with this update to revamp this entire island of Ouranos with trials and bosses that are extremely difficult and require failure to succeed. There is some bullshit here but most of it is designed okay, it’s nothing remarkable but it is extremely satisfying when you complete something. This updates main goal though, is to add an ending to the game, something it succeeded in above and beyond, the final boss and ending is more than worth playing through the extremely difficult update, you get to hear 2 new vocal tracks and see Super Saiyan 2 Sonic while fighting a crazy ass boss, it’s a great time. It’s the first time since about 2008 Sonic has actually felt raw and sincere, and not cringe.

I don’t think this update will change my score of the game (3.5/5) but it certainly will make me remember it as a good Sonic game. If you like Sonic pick the game up on sale, but beware of the crazy difficulty.

The trend of indie developers seeing a dormant series with no future and deciding "fine, I'll do it myself" is an amazing one that should never stop if this is the example for the rule going forward. Impeccable visuals, atmospheric presentation and fantastical music layered atop of a traversal system that leaps far ahead of it's Jet Set roots. Truly a triple AAA product we have here, worth its long wait. If you like Tony Hawk or Jet Set Radio, play this game, it is made for you. My only problem is it is not difficult enough.

My favorite music tracks from the game are:

condesed milk - cyber milk chan
Chuckin Up - Reso
Spectres - Reso
Boune Upon A Time - SKALP
I Wanna Kno - 2 Mello
Operator - GRRL

A great Wii platformer, very underlooked. Filled with charm everywhere.

Step in front of a runaway train. Just to feel alive again. Pushing forward through the night. Aching chest and blurry sight.

The perfect fanmade creation. Bar none. Perfect game elevated even more, the only singular negative I can think of is that portions of the &Knuckles part are a little weak and those Super Emerald stages can be a bitch.

Brutally hard sometimes, complex mechanics too. Very weird videogame here but I'm not complaining.

What amazing music, I hope there's a good game that comes with it (there isn't)

nah this is actually pretty good
