(5-year-old's review, typed by her dad)

You get to go on a slide and at the end you gotta beat Bowser, because you get to MOVE and MOVE if there's turns, and also there's a slide in the snowy place!

[Dad's note: She would use the Wii U gamepad to go do the secret slide in Peach's Castle over and over again, every day for the entire summer of 2020]

The worst sonic game. I like nothing about this game

This is one of the most worthless video game experiences I've ever had. I honestly hated nearly every aspect of the game, and the ones I didn't have major caveats to them. I hate the move to a more action-based genre and I also really disliked the more mature tone. Overall, I despise this game and won't be coming back to the series if this is the way forward.

I think this is a very cool game. I adored the pixel art and the music of it so much. I also really liked the story and found it much for unique than I originally thought it would be. However, I did also find it a little difficult to get to grips with, but that makes sense considering how many tactics games have released since this one.

For the first game, I had a pretty good time with this game. I liked the type of platforming and the look of the game. It was a little too floaty for my liking, however. I also enjoyed its story.

For the second, I thought this game was fun. I didn't like it as much as the first one, however. Yes, there were more varied areas, but I thought the simplicity of the first faired better. The story was definitely unique, though, and I liked it for that.

I beat it within 12 hours of receiving my copy and this game is honestly so fun it's a game of simple pleasures to me the way walls fall or the jingle after getting a part, it's all so hooking to me I couldn't stop playing

Having both the experience of going in blind and knowing what to do really helped cause I know both sides of being a scared dumbass with Harry as a guide and an expert on the areas both provided me with a really fun and charming experience.

I think this is one of those games where I hop into a vc bored and I just decide to beat Pikmin 1 again high honor tbh I only give to Jak and Daxter 1, onto the Pikmin 2 replay.

More like Lies of Plagiarism.

This is actually the worst Soulslike game I've ever played. Its existence is an airtight argument for the abolishment of the Soulslike genre.

This game shamelessly copies the aesthetic of Bloodborne. It cherry-picks mechanics from From Software's contemporary releases, haphazardly combining them without attempting to ensure they actually gel.
It's been quite some time since I've played a game with mechanics that actively work against each other the way they do in this. Health regains after taking damage works in Bloodborne because you get rewarded for pressing your attack and maintaining aggression. It adds a sense of accelerated pace to the Souls formula.

It doesn't work when you tie the same mechanics to a block. This is compounded by the fact that blocks knock the player backward.

The parry is among the worst I've ever seen in a game. It's not a frame one parry, and the window is a super tight eight frames--that also locks you into a long animation--so it feels like it has a half-second input delay. This means you have to parry before the attacks hit. It's not difficult, but it just feels unsatisfying. Moreover, the parry barely builds stagger meter, but failing to execute it results in half of your health (or more) being taken, so it's mostly taking a considerable risk for little reward.

The dodge, like many of the character's latent abilities, is underpowered because someone decided that carving out abilities that players should just have and throwing them into a skill tree was a good idea. It's a pathetic way to try and force some layer of progression. Still, it is an active detriment to the experience.

Couple these issues with the fact that bosses have far too much health and very few windows for attack, and these encounters mostly boil down to tests of patience.
It's not even particularly challenging. It just feels fucking awful play. If you're gonna emulate something you closely, you better not miss, and Lies of P fucking whiffs in an almost impressive fashion.

It's clear that the developers did not actually understand the games they were ripping off. Instead, they took unharmonious mechanics, tried to slap them together, and made slight adjustments so it didn't look like they straight-up copied From's homework.

But like the kid in school that tried to cheat off of you, they fucking failed.

PC version adds some much needed QoL improvement I already loved this game seeing it get much love through the fanbase makes me smile, One thing I picked up on this playthrough is how much I love the sound design I liked just chilling in the environments and taking in the world

also note: 4th replay of this game and still barely touched jak 2 it might be time

As a person who yoinked the username bombrushcyberfunk on instagram as soon it was revealed by that alone should tell you how much I was looking forward to this game, The jet set radio games have been apart of my life for a long time and their entire style and personality are huge to me and what I like.

Now, offrip BRCF fucking nails the entire artstyle, art, designs, and graffiti. It takes more of a jsr future look with the colors and environments with insane verticality, ramps, etc. The soundtrack as well while not as good as future imo it stands on it's own with unique sounds and it got me to play the entire game even after I finished it while only listening to its ost I personally think It's great. Personal standouts are Condensed Milk and Wanna kno (btw bringing 2mello on was a sick pick).

The gameplay is what I was most worried about for 3 years but honestly I think it's pretty damn good especially for a first foree, My biggest complaint is that for the normal moves its just press a button which I found lame compared to growing up with Tony Hawk games however I say this but I found it really engaging especially to play while in bed and I think its because the move set blends really well with the environments their crafted so well to work with each its so fun to make your way across the map in the sauciest way possible flipping in and out your traversal and doing boost tricks for that extra distance you need I think it's very well made but I definitely understand why people say it can be low energy or too simple cause of the gaps of sfx between and such. One BIG complaint to me though is that the graffiti stops you in your tracks but honestly when you memorize your favorite graffiti and can do them in a flash it's smoooooth and fun as heeelllll either way I'd like an option to choose one you can do quick after you beat the game instead of that but it didn't bog down the experience to me.

Story-wise honestly there's some batshit elements but it's a simplistic coming up story while fighting the police that reminds me of the jet set games wish it did more with some of the characters but there is some SHINY gold nuggets of lines written in there that really stuck with me along with some really entertaining humor.

The missions in this game while simple and reminiscent of those extreme sport games on ps2 I think they're done well and serve the story and all that good shit however I wish there was more variety across the areas but still really enjoyed what they did have.

and some smaller things with this game I don't want to gloss over, the controls feel great, I love the fact that you can switch between traversals however I wish each one had more than just different tricks and animations, the manual is so much better than the slide with the skates I chose skateboard every time. Also the areas are all pretty good with each one having a secret section and having a multitude of ways to try to get different scores and tackling them it ties into what I said with the gameplay but super well made Imo.

Overall I'm more than happy with this game I honestly think it surpasses the jsr duology in quite a few regards but there are some minor things I think hold it back and I would LOVE to see fixed or tackled in a sequel. Team Reptile u did good first time in a while my most anticipated game has lived up to what I wanted

Edit: I forgot the combat it kind of fucking sucks tbh BUT you can avoid it and it's more fun to bob and weave shit instead of fight
