All-time Favorite

My number 1 and only.

No matter how much time passes, no matter how much it ages, how barebones its rereleases can be, every single aspect that makes up this game is adored by me.

The first game that made me care about story in gaming, care about music in gaming, care about stealth gameplay. I'd be a different kind of gamer if I never played this.

Favorite Series

WE GOT REPEATS ALREADY!

While MG1 is actually one of my least liked it is still the first so its used as the icon.

Metal Gear is my favorite series, yes I was atrophying big time when the Konami Kojima split happened during 5's development and subsequent hibernation of the franchise until the master collection and delta were released.

Majority of what I said about MGS1 applies to the series as a whole. The narrative and music are some of the best franchise wide.

Favorite OST

This list is written before playing reload

The OST is one of the reasons why FES is my favorite JRPG. Mass Destruction is a banger of a battle theme and my favorite in the genre. The way the songs work in the tone of the game is beautiful. I come back to the ost often.

Favorite Protagonist

Yuri Lowell, wow I sure am original huh? But I'm serious. I like that he wasn't the usual jrpg protag who just let scum go, and actually did what needed to be done. The scene in the desert village is somethin I won't forget anytime soon

Favorite Villain

Luca Blight, another oh so original choice. He's just so unabashedly evil, he knows it, he owns it, HE LOVES IT!. Especially nowadays where villains have to have some sob story or "be relatable", Luca stands out even more and I cannot get enough.

If they try to tone him down in the upcoming remaster then its a failure of one.

Best Story

From going back a more fantasy oriented setting after 7 and 8 to a rather depressing narrative and themes, 9 stands out to me cuz of that. Acceptance of death, what makes you who you are, a reason to live in spite of it all. It shares a lot in that regard with P3 FES now that I think about it.

Have not played but want to

I enjoyed the first game way more than I thought once it came to switch, especially since I tried several times on pc and never got far. 2 will be played on switch but I'm still salty aspyr LIED about having the restored content dlc come at a later date. Shit was in that first trailer.

You Love, Everyone Hates

You would have thought this game took their child and shot them in from of someone with how much vitriol it and anyone who said they liked it got those few years around release. I'm happy people are becoming less scared from a brain rotted internet mob to say they like this video game. It is after all the best one of the trilogy in every conceivable way outside of gamplay cuz the combat in these games sucks harder than a hoover. The story, music, and characters are all amazing.

You hate, everyone loves

Boy oh boy can I not stand Bloodborne. I hate playing squishy characters, grinding blood vials sucks ass and I played at launch so you could only have 99 in the storage, I hated all the weapons but the two handed mode of Ludwig's Holy Blade and this piece of shit ruined armor in DS3. It made anything more than medium pointless!

Fuck this game. PC port never!

Best Artsyle

Beautiful ink painting style and the inkbrush worked its way into combat.

Favorite Ending

"But its a bunch of separate stories!"

While true, there is an underlying connection but that last chapter where it all comes together was PEAK imo. Also having Pogo be my main character just made its ending better.

Favorite Boss

Say what you want about MGS4, but that final fight against Ocelot is thematic as all hell and I wouldn't have it any other way

Childhood Game

I actually beat this game before 1 cuz it was an easier time, however that was LONG after I played it as a 6 year old. I have vivid memories of just playing the beginning over and over cuz getting the key in the hospital spawned raptors in the hallway when you left the room and scared me too much to continue.

Most Relaxing

For a park builder and management sim, this is one of the easiet I've ever played and cuz of that I can just boot it up, make a park and sit back while my dinosaurs do the best roars of dinosaur media.

Most Stressful

I have never felt as bad of an anxiety attack as I did every time I got bosses low on hp as I did in this dlc. I had no feeling in my face and hands during the entire last leg of cheating bitch of Kos. Lady Maria was the only fight that didn't have that effect cuz its an actual good fight

I never played this again

Game you always come back to

Every few years I boot this game up. I just love everything about it. Its a relatively short jrpg and on the easier side so its not a larger commitment when I deem it time to revisit such a masterclass in the genre

Guilty Pleasure

I don't actually believe in guilty pleasures, you should like what you like without irony or ignoring its faults. Just cuz something isn't perfect doesn't mean you can't like it or have to find ways to explain away its issues.

The game is just life and hometown with a musou element inbetween and it was just fun the whole way through. Series is dead now, it is what it is and tbh if it didn't die before now it wouldn't have survived the twitter troglodytes.

Tons of Hours Played

This was damn near the only game I played throughout half my high school life, and 90% of my psp time until Peace Walker released. I put probably close to 900 hours in it before my psp shit the bed in like 2012
