This was a struggle to choose as I love so many. RE does have some utter duds but when it hits a homerun it just blows it out the park like few other games can.

Yuzo Koshiro is a true name in the industry and this is the height of his work in my opinion.

Favorite Protagonist
Kazuma Kiryu. His voice, the way he scowls while curb stomping guys or when he scowls disco dancing, or scowls picking up the ladies. What a legend.

Favorite Antagonist
Fou-Lu just tops Saren from Mass Effect here. One of the rare times you see an antagonist's perspective as more than just "I'm evil because I am". Great character, cracking RPG.

Sure it's an amalgamation of many ideas before it but the way it's all brought together to keep you guessing the entire time is truly wonderful.

You hate, everyone loves
I could have put a lot of games here frankly like Outer Wilds, Grand Theft Auto among others but this is the one I'm most bitter about. Absolute fan fiction drivel.

This was a toss up between Vagrant Story and Onimusha 3 for it's insane CGI movie. Overall Vagrant Story wins for it's cinematography.

Most Stressful
Stealing from Penumbra but yeah. The unpredictable AI can genuinely be stressful just trying to move from A to B. I have a friend who refuses to even play this due to how stressful it looks.

Wait whoa, you hated Outer Wilds???
@_YALP - Despise it actually. I simply can't fathom what everyone loves about it lol.
FWIW, what I like about Outer Wilds: I'm a mechanics guy so I'm primarily interested in what the game asks you to do. OW is, AFAIK, almost completely unique in the way the gameplay and progression works (where basically the whole gameplay is just exploration and discovery, as opposed to those activities being ancillary). It's also fairly unique in being almost completely nonviolent (other than self-inflicted injury). It's a puzzle game that isn't just a bunch of abstract rooms; the whole solar system is the puzzle and it fits together cohesively. It rewards exploration, creative thinking, and an enthusiast-level understanding of space stuff like gravity and orbits. And honestly I just like the vibes; the first time I saw the wooden spaceship my curiosity was immediately piqued. FWIW :)

Regarding Outer Wilds, thanks for putting down your thoughts about it. It's a game I went into utterly blind knowing nothing but the praise it was recieving. I didn't even know what kind of game it was. Starting it up I quickly realised it was not for me. On paper your description should be something I like but I just didn't have fun with it. The loop, the controls, and also thought it was quite ugly visually. I utterly appreciate I'm an outlier with this one though XD

Wow three weeks!! I just had a three week vacay over the holiday and it was AMAZING! For the first time I remember I actually came back to work feeling significantly better and more energized than when I left. I got sooooo many games finished hahaha. Congrats buddy!! Do you have any special plans, big games or real life or whatever?
@cowboyjosh - The time off really does do wonders for the mind and soul for sure! I have days leave I have to use by April or loses them so just did it in one hit. I'm going to stay with a friend of mine in another part of the country for a week to play Castlevania Lords of Shadow (and possibly Aliens Colonial Marines for a laugh) together and kick back. The rest will be gaming at home whilst doing some odd job stuff that piles up when working you know? It will be a good time nonetheless!
I kind of wanna do this, since I love lists, but maaaaan, that would take like forever.
