Back in 2007 when this game first came out I was all fanboy'd out on FFVII and this game was like the second coming. Well I am still fanboy'd out on FFVII (might be the best game of all time) and this is pretty good. Does feel dated in a lot of places, has a somewhat corny story, not a lot of substance to it. The missions are repetitive and are basically just filler. The best part is the character development and story chapters and that ends up being a small portion of the game, as it is mostly playing the missions and grinding them. Plus the combat is nothing special either. As a fan of FFVII just playing this game does make me feel giddy and excited. It is a good prequel to a fantastic game.

Mario Wonder is a joy of a game. The thing that really stands out is the graphics/art style and sound design. Good enough to win my goty in all of those categories. The gameplay is pretty simple, but the variety in stages and enemies keeps the game fresh throughout. Some of my only complaints are the game is a tad too easy, even when going for 100% on levels and the end boss fight could have had some better design or mechanics. A contender for best game of 2023!
First time going through this other than a few minutes here or there...If you use a map at the very least the game is pretty good. If you do not use a map or any guides then you are in for a miserable time. Revolutionary concept, music, and graphics for the NES and for the time. Would be almost perfect it was less difficult and less cryptic in design. Just a fun and rewarding game play experience.
