Permeated by the same GaaSy stench that all f2p games are, but here it's obnoxious even at the free level. I know it's uncomfortable to raise any silly little issue above insidious monetisation/retention tactics but if I see one more person spam their free Rich White Man Streamer emote after scoring a goal I'm going to fucking lose it

Game itself is quite fun, but with a few caveats. One is that soloq has somehow been far more frustrating than any moba I've played - being a sports game means that coordination with at least one of your guys is pretty much necessary to function and I'm sure it goes without saying why soloq isn't a very good avenue for that. The other is the stark difference between quickplay and "normals" - quickplay is first to 5, with passive items called "trainings" randomly assigned to everyone before the game starts; fast games, but your character is essentially better or worse every game at complete random. Normals are bo5 with each round being first to 3, and between-rounds are broken up with a messy draft-pick system where everyone picks... a random selection of trainings. In return for games lasting upwards of 3 times longer than in quickmatch, you don't even get to solve the main problem with it?

It's fine - good, even! - if you play it with friends, but not a game I can see myself playing without. Maybe it's time to stop looking for my replacement Battlerite.

After getting a clutch goal playing as the slime girl in a funny bee costume on a team with my friends over voice chat, I've turned around a little bit on this game.

It's alright.

The emotes that are just jpegs of people's faces zoomed in are hilarious.

League of Legends soccer might not be my thing, but it's not bad.

Dubu is an absolute brick wall of an individual.

I played the tutorial and after the game told me that there's equippable gear I uninstalled it

MOBA air hockey is neat but I hate how WASD and controller controls feel so idk. this game's community is based solely around rule 34 of the women getting ass blasted and nothing else. Kind of a floperino if you ask me.

Lets build a competitive sports title in the genre with the worst movement options imaginable

Its chaos thats rarely fun

World and designs are neat I guess

Mario Strikers Supercharged for League fans

One of those games that you play every day for a week then never again

Putting a anime smackdown on these chumps

I'm so grateful for being part of the competitive scene of this game in south america, even got paid for playing it, had a good time in all tournaments I participated, made a bunch of friends, so I'll never forget this game <3

I will gladly lay down my life for Juno

The curse of truly unique multiplayer games is their short lifespans

The most entertaining and gripping game I've ever played. Met a lot of people, made a ton of friends, got to compete in fun tournaments and spent the best time of my life playing it.

i fucking hate football games

- Good core concept! I'm a sucker for these (somewhat) inventive takes on sports, and while this is fundamentally still just air hockey, the MOBA character gimmick pulls enough of its weight that I almost immediately found myself spam queueing for games, trying to hone a strategy based on what went wrong in the last match.

- A lot of basic functionality missing at the moment. I didn't know that you could view champion abilities before entering a game, because the button to look at that information is one of the smallest on the main menu. Attempting to report a player opens a browser window - if you want players to actually report toxic behavior, you should do everything in your power to make it as easy as possible. The lack of communication makes it hard to grief your teammates, but it also means that you can't ping where you're sending the ball, you can't ask for a position swap, and attempting to strategize mostly looks like an attempt to induce Pavlovian conditioning in your teammates. The main menu has several dropdowns that don't look anything like dropdowns, meaning it's unclear how to change your character's passive abilities, what position you want to play, how to change the "default" character (the one selected automatically when starting a match), until you've clicked around enough to stumble across it. No dealbreakers here, the game is playable, but this is absolutely the time to make a good impression - once the streamer attention dries up, I'm wondering if this game's charm is strong enough to overcome the lack of QOL features.

Now that I've actually played a few rounds of this with a team of people I know in real life, I feel confident in my initial opinion from when I tried a single game of solo-queue and then uninstalled it from my Steam account:

This is just Windjammers but worse in every conceivable way.

Played in the early early tests before the game even had character models. Was really fun. Played a decent amount of the current build for the closed beta and its even better. Recommended for anyone looking for that competitive itch.

DAMN fine little anime air hockey thing. Feels great in the moment just wackin the ball around all MOBA game/arcade like, but its ALSO got cool PROGRESSION MINUTIA to think about for upgrades and blocking guys off from getting the things they want type fun. Good, simple fun!!! We like it.

Oh HMMM IT DOES have your token, 'FUNBUCKS' ridden microtransaction shit for outfits and other superfluous things that IS deserving of being made fun of though. Let's go over that for a bit:

I TOTALLY GET IT like - I'm sure these teeeny tiny little indie devs or whoever wanna easily keep their lights on and pay for their COOL ANIME OP BY STUDIO TRIGGER™ that you only ever watch once. I GET IT! ...But I don't like it >;)

Like - $10+ for a single skin tho? ALONGSIDE that BATTLE STRIKER PASS you can already buy??? AND you can't even just buy the outfits outright, you have to buy higher priced SET AMOUNTS OF FUN BUCKS FIRST?? What is WRONG with video games these days...... Those beach outfits they made don't even play the 'BEACH MUSIC' variants of each character's theme song they bothered to make for the summer event when you wear them! What a WASTE..... WHO IS ACTUALLY GONNA FEEL INCLINED TO BUY ANY OF THIS SHIT IF IT AINT IN A MEGA GAME LIKE FORTNITE. WHY IS IT LIKE THIS??? ARE THEY STUPID????

ehem ah I JEST. It's CORNY, but I'm at at least thankful the bulk of that stuff is obviously just for silly cosmetics you don't need. In the beta you had to buy the GEAR UPGRADES for your characters, and there was this overcomplicated 'deck-building before a match' aspect to it all.
Good riddance I say! The way things turned out ended up being faaar more intuitive and naturally engaging.

For giving me a smart grind-y game to get absorbed in and for getting me to finally quit what remains of fuckin OVERWATCH, I give this one crazy props!! And also for the lack of voice chat! Surprising props for that too! I LOVE not having to talk to bratty people in my competitive video game settings, yepyep! A thumbs up emoji to project my sportsmanship is ALL I NEED..

OOHH~ It's COOL to appreciate corny live-service moba things when you know they're not super popular and are as good as DEAD cuz the devs are bouncing off to other things~~ We had a good run!!

the only esports game that doesn't invoke a disgust response when i hear somebody plays it

this game has potential but like all multiplayer games it lives and dies by its player base. SO STOP HANGING AROUND YOUR OWN GOAL THERE'S ALREADY A DESIGNATED GOALIE

It's hockey but your character has moba-like skills that hit the puck and your opponents, and you can kill each other via ringouts. Bad games usually end fast because of snowballing and the long ones are always intense as hell.
The new awakening system means that the matches are extremely varied even if they start with the same set of characters because your performance affects which awakenings you can pick which affects your future performance and so on.
I would give it a 5/5 but some characters are toxic af and devolve the game if their user has at least double-digits IQ (somewhat rare occurrence in such players), and I don't think they'll be reworking or deleting them any time soon. That said, when you're put in a lobby with people of similar skill levels it's some of the must fun I've had in years.

If people let this game die I'll take it as proof that doing game design is a waste of time in multiplayer games.

I haven't had this much fun with a competitive multiplayer game in actual years. Holy shit man, I love this game so much.

They have a few rough edges here and there that need a bit of smoothing, but I can tell the developers genuinely want this game to be as great as it could possibly be, so I do feel very hopeful for the future of it. It's fun, unique, feels very good to play and improve at, and has a good group of people behind it, what more could you want?

Fun F2P team-based game that isn't a shooter for once. The main thing I dislike is how much emphasis they put on knocking out other players, the goal is to score so I prefer controlling the core. I main Rune and Atlas btw.

I was not convinced at first seeing people talking about it, and most of the time, they were sponsored to play it, so I did not get any interest and just skipped. Now that I have played the game, it is actually very good. I see how it can be addictive, and the characters all look and work well. The mechanics are very simple, so you just need to know when to use them. I recommend it, and it can run on a potato, so that is + a half star.

Tons of fun with friends, just wish they were able to keep players interested

We will lose our friendships.

mãe, o meu main foi banido de novo :(

Pretty fun game, but I don't like a couple of things:
1. Uninspired, overly weeb-appealing character design.
2. God-awful voice acting (which you can thankfully mute in the settings).
3. Slow climbing in ranked - I feel like the "mid" ranks are a bit unnecessary, especially since the game doesn't do placement matches.
4. Not really a game issue, but most goalie players have no idea what they're doing
5. Lack of options for a toxic player. The best one I could find was to walk up to a player you want to flame after somebody scores a goal and spam the thumbs up emote. Unfortunately it doesn't always work - sometimes the player is not in the camera focus, sometimes other players are overly cheerful and spam emotes as well, and the cooldown on using emotes is very annoying. Fortunately this one is still fixable.
