Okay I got addicted to this. I am so happy to playing all these different types of games, there are so many fresh ideas around in these smaller titles. The art style and music really invokes CastleVania but the simple gameplay really shines. A fun light version of bullet hell and roguelike. Really fun. A finished all the cycles but I want to play more for fun.
You could find flash games with more substance than this.
It's mind-numbing once you pick the correct upgrades, a coomer experience where you just see the numbers rise and the screen flooded with enemies you just mop over.
I could literally make an essay about how everything the game uses to appeal is a manifestation of all the dirty tricks we've seen in the last decade of gaming plopped into a single package.

What’s there to review really? If one dimensional push joystick and win games are your thing knock yourself out. I can’t play more than two runs in this game without getting bored to tears, or a deep sadness when you realize that a dumb game like this is loved by many… kind of shows you how depressing the state of triple A gaming has become.
This game is really dumb. Like, REALLY dumb... in the best possible way. Every single thing about it knows how to deliver a nice big hit of mindless dopamine; the sound design, the lights and colours, the minimal input you have as a player making you feel like you earned it... fantastic! It does help that the game knows its dumb too, and overall it absolutely nails what its going for.
While not the actual daddy of this "new" survival-like genre, it definitely had enough polish, interesting aspects, and replayability that it brought the genre to life in an explosion. Great art style, fast paced, lots of fun. Insane number of things to get that you actually want to get and aren't just for completionists.
A perfect little pick up and play game, fantastic fit for mobile. The short rounds make it great for when youre waiting in line or commuting. The sense of progression is really strong but the further I get into it the more it feels like im plataeuing--but that may just be me spending less time with it and getting back less progression, as you'd expect. It may be more absorbing for someone into minmaxing for the perfect run, but I play it fairly casually.
I have a lot of fun with it either way. Turning a character into a bullet spitting buzzsaw throwing death machine is a blast.
If you have any interest at all, pick it up on mobile for free and give it a spin! Theres a reason it ended up on all those game of the year lists.
