You have no idea how much I want to like this game. Great visuals, great humour, great music, and really cool worlds to explore, but it's just not finished. Controls are janky, the amount of glitches I got in my playthrough were insane, story feels rushed and the evil twins are borderline unbearable antagonists. The gems have 0 completion reward aside from extras which just gives you mountains of cut content which is cool and all but gives me almost no incentive to 100% the game like the original trilogy did. I will continue to enjoy the best parts of this game as they truly shine as being this franchises peak, but I can't say it's very good at ALL as a complete product
I bought this game on a whim many years after my Crash phase, and I have to say...it's surprisingly enjoyable. Compared to the Ratchets and Slys of the world, Twinsanity doesn't stack up, but I found its writing to be charming and funny enough, and its gameplay was varied and mostly enjoyable. Nobody remembers this game today, but as far as latter-day Crash games go, this is the best of a bad lot.
i like a lot of things here. the level design is cool, the humor is excellent, and crash mostly feels great to control. unfortunately, there are dozens of indicators that this game was shipped before it was finished. never mind the missing content from concept days, sometimes the game struggles to function properly in the face of a fucked camera. sigh...i really wanted to love this one.
The sheer fore of personality held by Twinsanity is both its greatest strength and what most obviously reveals its weaknesses. The game is unfinished, very obviously so, and the game going from elements that are excellently crafted to some of the laziest parts of the series on serves to underline this.
The game is happy to joke about this, but I am very much of the school that pointing out your own faults does not excuse said faults. The longer the game goes on, the more it becomes obvious just how great it could have been. Nina becomes a throwaway, the final act is visibly hurried, and lots of the cutscenes just don't feature any sound. This would be an absolute scandal in today's market, but at least it could eventually be fixed with matches. Twinsanity is instead an admittedly enjoyable indication towards what could have been.
I appreciate the new directions that Twinsanity took, but I find people saying it is better than Wrath of Cortex confusing, given that this is half a game on all counts, and Wrath of Cortex feels complete and coherent. Still, this has some great moments, but they can only ever be moments.

Playing this game can be painful at times. Its gameplay styles are of a wide variety and as a result the game feels unfocused, though not to the level of wrath of cortex. Some of it is not executed well and some others are not executed to their full potential and they leave you feeling like more could have been done with these styles. That's not even mentioning the bugs, which atleast in my experience were plentiful, ranging from funny to frustrating. Same for the controls, which were at time smooth and at times very odd. Nevertheless, i felt my experience was redeemed thanks to the amazing and funny writing, perfectly complemented by great voice acting and the best crash music the franchise has ever seen.
My childhood. I really love this game. But even I, have to admit it has not aged well. It’s full of glitches, messy controls at times, etc.. however, it has a lot of good stuff going for it. It blends in the action genre and platforming genre perfect, and the artstyle is really good.
Overall, it’s a glitch fest, but if you ignore that, its a good platformer. 6.5/10, 3.5/5
