If I wanted to play a game where the story and background is explained entirely through reading, I'd just play Umineko

u think u Finishd Teh Fight? sorry but An Ancient Evil Awakens (the makers of games such as Too Human, Turok 2008 and Kinect Star Wars, all merged together into a MegaZord called '343'). Cortana looks like she belongs in a porn parody and I think that accurately describes the overall quality of this MTN Dew/Dorito wombocombo advertisement that received 9outta10's from all your favorite gaming media outlets, who were keen enough to inform discerning consumers that this made-with-love sequel has the strongest story yet (love and kind regards from GameSpot). Credit where credit is due, the people behind the story clearly cared enough to read every Bionicle book and the lore wiki in preparation for this, that's why they act like MasterChaff is an actual character with gravitas even though up till now he'd been a camogreen brick who doesn't afraid of anything while outside of the games he was a soda mascot. Look forward to my upcoming review of Halo 5 my felllow gamers who recently purchasd the master chief collection for 9,99 on steem (what a deal!!somany achievements for me to collect)

343's first attempt with a mainline Cheif Halo game and it was kinda disappointing.

The story feels like a fan fiction follow up to Halo 3, with a Cheif X Cortana "Romance", weird character motivations and writing. Awakening "Ancient Evils". Just really out of place stuff that doesn't feel like it belongs in Halo.

Gameplay-wise it doesn't really do anything new besides add a dedicated sprint button. Shooting feels okay, but not as satisfying as other Halo games because of the new enemy alien type you fight. The new weapons you get which aren't UNSC/Covenenat weapons are really bad and don't pack the punch the other weapons had. The gameplay kinda falls a few steps back from where Bungie left it.

The biggest addition are these new enemy types, the Promethians, are not fun to fight at all. They teleport all over the place, don't react to your shots, and just aren't satisfying to kill at all. It feels like you're shooting at rocks. They are also really annoying to fight as they can be revived by drones once you kill them. Very weird enemy design by 343.

The environments, being one of the best things about Bungie's Halo, is very uninspired here. You're just getting jungles, deserts and some facilities. Nothing really stands out besides the final trench run mission - that was pretty cool - and the fact that you get to control a Pelican.

I think on release many people gave 343 the benefit of the doubt with this game, giving them a chance since this is their first mainline Halo, but in hindsight they were going down a deep hole that Halo couldn't really return from.

Halo 4 isn't terrible. It's still a decent FPS but considering the games that came before it, it was really a drop in quality.

Anyone that says that this game is good was probably 10 when they first played it, and sadly they were never able to mentally develop beyond that point.

It's really nice to revisit these games in 2024, especially after experiencing them on the Master Chief collection. It's much easier to get a feel for the campaign, not hampered down by the multiplayer or nostalgia. For many people, Halo is all about multiplayer. I get that, it is up there with Goldeneye as one of the most fun multiplayer shooters. Yet, with the servers shut down, does the campaign still hold up and is it still worth owning. The answer is yes, Halo 4 is still good. Halo 4 continues the epic series, but this time 343 have taken over the reigns from creators Bungie. Now, unless you have been hiding under a rock, you know what Halo is. A futuristic space FPS, with excellent controls and a cool story and world. There's vehicles, sticky grenades and weird alien enemies, it's great. Halo 4 is all of those things and more, it's really fun. I always think it's strange that this is not a Bungie game as it feels more like a Halo game than the previous Reach and ODST. They have kept everything you loved about the original 3 games and added in interesting enemies and weapons to boot. In some ways I actually enjoyed this more than Halo 3. It's graphics hold up much better which makes sense as it was more recent. I also think it is a bit smoother to control, if that is possible. The story explores the relationship between Master Chief and Cortana, which is a nice change and quite mature. In terms of criticisms, there are a few. The missions feature a lot more indoor environments, with corridor shooting style sections and less space to move around. I'm not sure if this is a bad thing, but it definitely feels different. The music is also unfortunately a step down, it's fairly hard to match up to Halo 3 though in this regard. I think my biggest gripe with the game is the final boss. I won't spoil anything, but it sucks. Overall I really enjoyed Halo 4 and looking back at it with a campaign focus, I think people may enjoy it more than they expect. Press R to climb was pretty dumb though. Of course you should pick up this one.

kinda crazy this was the best one made by 343. its actually fun sometimes but it just doesnt reach that high the bungie games did.

Hey, it's Halo. It's a good game. But there are some flaws with it, outside of it's new sci fi setting and new enemies (as well as some old), there's a significant balancing issue with this game. 343 Industries took the outline that defined Halo Reach's gameplay, and copied it, created their own assets and AI, and then pasted it into a new game. Problem is, while it has Reach's gameplay, it lacks the balance that Reach had. As a result, the new Forerunner/Promethean AI (SPOILERS) are vastly overpowered and broken, and the amount of ammo that you have is underwhelming.

Is this a good game? Yeah sure, but it has it's flaws. In terms of 343's era of Halo games, probably the BEST in terms of the story. But in terms of gameplay, there are some flaws to look out for.

I don't revisit Halo 4 often mostly because I think it fails to capture what made the Bungie games so great. The story is all over the place, feeling more like an action movie rather than a Halo game. The new threat the Prometheans are uninteresting and bullet sponges on higher difficulties. The music and art style are so far off from what you'd expect, it's just reminiscent of halo when it should be quintessentially halo. I do have positives to say, the weapon sandbox while it does have too many precision weapons, it does have a lot of fun new weapons such as the SAW or sticky detonator. The multiplayer is fun, I played it a bunch back when the game was new, but it feels too much like Call of Duty, with weapon loadouts, kill streaks and just an overall missed step when it comes to Halo. Overall, Halo 4 is not bad, but it really isn't great either. Some people really enjoy it though, and I'm glad for that, 343 tried something different and that's commendable.

For me the story ended at halo 3.

Even though I enjoyed my time with Halo 4, it left me conflicted. On the one hand, Cortana’s deteriorating mental state and evolving relationship with Master Chief is an interesting dynamic to the story, the level design in some of the later levels was great and the forerunners new weapons and enemies added some welcome variety. On the other hand, the game’s antagonist bored me, some of the new weapons and enemies have mediocre designs and many levels are too open to promote strategic positioning on the battlefield. With some better writing and design decisions this could’ve been something special as the core gunplay, visuals and audio are all strong. I’d still recommend Halo 4 to Halo fans, but if you aren’t invested in the franchise and its antagonists, I’d skip this.

This wasnt even that bad tbh but every time I look at it, its just a reminder that maybe this and everything else after this just shouldnt have happened.

Amazing game. Soundtrack was awsome and the story was good. Multiplayer was call of duty. Overall a good overall first effort for 343.

don't be fooled by the name, Halo cannot hold 4 guns in this game, only one

cortana a bad bitch in this one

Microsoft's 343 Industries's Halo 4 is a soulless approximation of a Halo game made by people that maybe read a couple of the novels and understood nothing about what made Bungie's games so beloved.

Ultimately Halo 4 just feels aimless, there's cool ideas sprinkled throughout the campaign but they're often overshadowed by boring levels or a story that convoluted itself with new characters that drag down what could've been a cool dynamic with Cortana experiencing Rampancy, but they don't really do that much with it sadly. Combat feels very different from Halo 1-3, you have much less ammo in reserves and enemies are much more defensive, teleporting behind cover and regaining their shields, its just very frustrating if played solo, this problem felt less pronounced when playing the campaign in co-op . Vehicles feel useless in many cases because of how small arenas are, and enemies use charged plasma shots SO much so you'll just end up getting sent into a ravine or killed. The art design is really desaturated too, readability of enemy ranks using their armor color is basically impossible in a firefight. I don't recommend this game to anyone except Halo fans who want to play all of the games just out of curiosity.

it ruined the entire series, but in hindsight, it was no where near as bad as 5 or infinite, and could have been somewhat well regarded if it wasn't a mainline halo entry.

over hated game, the Cortana mo- I mean the gameplay is really good, the music and cortana model- I mean graphics are really good for when it came out.

I haven't played any other Halo games. I can't comment on the story because I skipped it to prevent myself from spoiling the original/well-received ones, which I hope to play someday.

I wasn't very impressed during my hour of gameplay. The soundtrack and the general aesthetic were bland (at least for the opening level). I thought Halo was known for having a great soundtrack and art direction.

The level design is uninteresting. It felt like a bunch of enemies were placed around haphazardly.

The enemy AI is some of the worst I've seen in a modern FPS. You can hide behind a wall 10 feet away and enemies won't even throw a grenade toward you. They're laughably passive.

The inability to carry multiple weapons (besides a little pistol that's also used up in two seconds) greatly limits strategy and feels frustrating. The issue is compounded by how little ammo each weapon has; I've never played an FPS that's this stingy with it. Even with good aim, I often had to backtrack to find more weapons, which hurt the pacing.

The nicest thing I have to say is that, on a purely technical level, this looks very good for 7th-gen standards.

lembro de cor cada pedaço desse jogo

Cortana is exactly like me (gigantic ass)
