Tendo o 4 como predecessor, não dá pra entender como erraram tão feio nessa sequência

I'm currently playing through the Resident Evil series for the first time ever. I played RE1 HD Remaster, RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake, RE4 Original, and now this. This is the only one of the games that I did not enjoy. The suspense/horror aspect is totally gone (though that was true in RE4 too), and almost all puzzles and exploration are gone as well. In RE4 I didn't mind as much that it had changed a lot from the games before it, because it made up for that by being entertaining regardless. However, RE5 did not entertain me. The only cool thing about this entire game was the brief appearance of both Wesker and Jill. I thought the plot was the worst of the games yet, and I thought the main duo weren't all that interesting either. Gameplay wasn't great. Somehow, even with updated mechanics from RE4, this game ended up feeling worse to play in almost every way. My biggest gripe with combat was definitely to do with all non-basic enemies being total bullet sponges. Those guys with chainsaws take insane amounts of damage before death. It's not fun to just shoot a million bullets and grenades at a single enemy until it dies.

this game is very overhated, i was scared to play it bc of all the ppl saying it was the worst RE, the ones who say that definetely didnt have a friend to play it with. Wish they kept making coop games

Eu olho pra esse jogo como uma grande tentativa de fazer resident evil 4 denovo. Toda a proposta e parte do design de inimigos é o mesmo, com a primeira sessão funcionando EXATAMENTE como o inicio de RE4. Porém dessa vez é co-op.
Eu não consigo não imaginar esse jogo não sendo co-op com toda a parte de administração de recursos em conjunto, parte dos puzzles... sem todo o contato que tive com um amigo simplesmente parece que estou falando de outro jogo. Então toda a minha impressão foi feita a partir do modo multiplayer, que diga-se de passagem, é muito divertido.
Mesmo com o pouco de exploração, é divertido se separar do amigo por um momento e coletar recursos, para depois vocês administrarem o que tem e trocar o que é necessário
Sem falar do próprio combate, que é o mesmo do 4 mas aprimorado, ainda mais com as interações entre os dois players.
Os chefes, acho que vão melhorando gradativamente, junto com o jogo como um todo, eles requerem um esforço da dupla para trabalharem juntos encontrando uma solução e dar suporte a um ao outro
Quanto a trilha ela é bem épica e maneira, junto ao art style que é um meio cartoon lembrando MVC3 e é bem bonito.
Agora a parte problemática?
Todo o level design é completamente linear, a falta de profundidade na exploração me faz questionar se isso é um jogo de Resident Evil.
Ao mesmo tempo que o jogo apresenta bosses legais e um combate Interessante, ele de vez em quando mostra bosses tenebrosos de ruins, e inimigos que são de fato uma esponja de dano
Mas é isso, é um jogo divertido mas ruim
Então acho que dá pra dizer que o 5 no nome faz juz a nota dele

This game is a piece of shit. If you have a friend it's a blast though. You'll laugh a lot. Chris fucking up the rock at the end is brilliant.

Pretty good time with a friend in co-op, total slog in singleplayer. Terrible inventory system and instead of a funny merchant guy the shop is just a soulless menu. Starts off okay and slowly nosedives until the end. The flamethrower Uroboros boss lives in my nightmares. Was gonna give 2 stars but i'll give an extra half a star for the awesome lost in nightmares DLC

I played this game with a friend who had already played and knew what to do, which made everything SIGNIFICANTLY easier. That being said;
Right off the bat, this game has horrible controls. Some of the worst I've dealt with ever. Though, I was playing on mouse and keyboard. Even after getting used to the controls, it's kind of a painful experience.
That being said, this game made me laugh so much, more than almost any other game I've played, because of how ridiculous it can be. The ability to be almost constantly screaming at your partner to come help you do things (open doors, move objects, etc.) is absolutely fucking hilarious sometimes. Also, if you're on mouse and keyboard, you don't get some of the quick-time events that controller players get, leading to some extremely confusing moments where either Chris or Sheva will just fucking die during a cutscene. This isn't even touching on the story, which at some points had me genuinely laughing out loud by how absurd everything was.
The story is, well.. something. I can't quite tell if I like or dislike it considering how out there it is. !!Spoilers, the coast is clear at the next set of exclamation points. About halfway through the game, Sheva just kind of becomes irrelevant to the plot, but she's still there. This causes some awkward moments where she just... stands there... while no one acknowledges her? This can also be extremely funny at points.!!
!!More spoilers. At one point in the game, you have to fight Jill and Wesker after she's been mind controlled, or something. During this fight, you're supposed to shoot Wesker. You aren't told this (but I suppose it's pretty heavily implied now that I think about it). The first thing I did was murder Jill, which ends your game (“Your partner died”). When this happened, my friend and I laughed for about 5-7 minutes straight because holy shit, I just fucking killed Jill!? !! Some points really are so cursed, it’s amazing to think someone actually cleared the script.
This game probably doesn't deserve even 3 stars, HOWEVER, I had a lot of fun playing it with my friend, and the progression is pretty decent which made it fun to go back to.

This game has so many flaws. The inventory sucks, only being able to hold 9 items at a time on 1 character is extremely limiting and makes me miss the attache case. The bosses are hit or miss with some just feeling like bullet sponges which occasionally have you press a prompt. I don't think the game aged very well graphically either with how pisstained the opening looks and everything after just looks pretty dull. The story is pretty meh too. It feels like one of those straight to DVD action films with none of the self-awareness that made RE4s plot enjoyable. Sheva and Chris also have 0 chemistry and you'd have to be slightly braindead not to see the twist coming. Wesker steals the show in the latter half atleast (best vocal performance ever). This game also has way too much action. You could maybe say the same about RE4, but atleast that game had moments that atleast tried to be horror like the sections with Verdugo or the Regenerators, this game has nothing like that and instead goes the opposite route by cranking the action up to 11. Also, the removal of the merchant guy in favour of a cold, lifeless menu where you just select weapons to buy and upgrade is a crime.
With that said though, I still had a blast with the game since I played the whole thing in co-op with a friend and it really makes the issues that this game has be not nearly as apparent. The two extra chapters are also really fun, especially Lost in Nightmares which was an awesome callback to RE1. So yeah, I enjoyed it even with how many things this game does wrong.

Esse Resident Evil é 8 ou 80: amados por muitos, mas odiado também. É aquele jogo que conseguiu desagradar muitos fãs da primeira trilogia e também os fãs de Resident Evil 4. Mas também foi sucesso de vendas e responsável por trazer mais fãs para a franquia. Se você for novo na franquia pode começar por ele, pois não vai ter nenhuma expectativa frustrada.

Tem a volta de minha personagem favorita (Jill Valentine) e coloca um fim naquela perseguição de anos entre Chris e Wesker. É também o primeiro jogo da franquia a trazer modo cooperativo online, e olha... É um dos melhores coop que você irá jogar!

Pretty rubbish but it's co-op
Jogo dahora, eu não tive oportunidade de zerar pq eu tava sendo solado pelo maluco da motosserra lá no capitulo 5 (eu acho). Mas o jogo é bom, bastante ação, gameplay dahora e boss fight legais.
