Stunned into silence in learning that Crazy Taxi got 2 sequels, shaken out of the silence and started screaming from the bottom of my diaphragm in learning that it's a fucking knockout evolution of the core game.

You could see the lead beam sticking thru my skull all the way from orbit maybe. I've always been a bit of a dipshit cunt idiot who liked Fortnite way back before it had sprinting and vaulting & no build mode. Chapter 3 was def the point where I felt totally & utterly confident in this game being cheeks. Amazing zero sweats game about having fun with your friends. Once u stop trying to win u start winning.

It's been a solid decade since a city builder game has really grabbed me, the last being Sim City 4. I blindly took the plunge into the full Anno 1800 suite (DLC, season passes, scenarios and god knows what else) earlier this month, and the experience has been kind of amazing. One of the main draws for me in this genre is seeing your humble settlement of cobblestone huts & donkey asses slowly metamorphise thru grit and 3L1T3 mayoral upkeep into a thriving steel and glass metropolitan pleasureplex. What has really sent this game stratospheric has been thru Ubisoft's ridiculous industrial might when it comes to creating STUNNING assets and expansions for this. The way your playthrough splinters off into a globetrotting adventure w/ wonderfully realised locales and simulations and music oh my god it's gratifying to da nth degree. Utterly beautiful game that has not stopped rewarding me for being a good boy.

Probably my first 100% in a long time lol. Very cool shmup. "Bonus challenges to unlock the true ending" is a sentance that makes me want to launch myself out of a window but god I'm so glad I did, wonderfully designed game with and a neat story.

I'd be lying if I said this was a particularly great game, but games these days so rarely hit these charm notes. This one's for all the dreamers who love PS2 cutscenes and wrapping ur car around a streetlight. Hilarious & fun <3<3<3

Kinda knockout. Amazin start to a VN I've been slowly workin my way through as brief bedtime reads. If you ever feel the urge to read this beast of a VN, do what I did and install the 07th Mod onto the Steam version of the game. It lets you have the original artwork, non-Photoshop filter backgrounds, text boxes, no atrocious lip flaps, and quite simply the best voice acting I've ever heard this side of Prince of Egypt. Absolutely stratospheric levels of popoff in here w/ thanks to that VA and the surprisingly great OST.

Thank you Maradona for getting me into this! I'm new to strategy games, but this is good in obvious enough ways for me to notice. Very modular in how much you can pay attention to or finetune, oodles of wriggleroom for player expression.

Entering power gap territory here, but Drainus is cool.

The Make Me Real series is so sick, they're mods for Hotline Miami that crank the presentation to their logical extremes & are very short. Honestly a fairly solid recc from me, even if you aren't much of a Hotline Miami fan like me either.

A bit of a curio more than anything, but it's a nice slice of storygamer history being preserved once again by the heroes who fantranslate.

Rollercoaster shmup, I'm very easy 2 please

A tru adventure game a-la Yume Nikki. The briskness and woolly verbiage of Magic Wand still makes it my favourite TheCatamines game, but 10 Beautiful Postcards better demonstrates the author's strengths in art and humour - and that it is still possible to uproot decades of conventional videogame wisdom with W, A, S, D and a little optimism.

A kaleidoscope of explosion .gifs. Where this game fails at being a particularly mechanically engaging shmup, or even all that difficult, it excels(?) at festooning the screen with information laced with utterly extraneous action and special effects. To say this game puts its presentation above all else is an understatement, hardcore Heralds of the Shmup will no doubt be disappointed at the lack of precision-engineered scoring systems, mode variety or bullet patterns on offer here. I think that's what those guys care about.
More casual thrillseekers like myself are the target demographic for Grand Cross Renovation - the shmup genre for me is all about style and aggression, maintaining cool heads while the going gets rough and eeking through unfathomable odds, one small hitbox against every star in the sky.

Imagine I said Space Invaders But BASED and on the BASED a powerful gust of potent Fruit Gushers breath pours through your monitor and seers ur face off.

It's so nice when a game is made for nobody but me.

Half dislike Tunic for having such a distracting reference stack, but absolutely adore the interconnective tissue that holds things together. I never want to play a game with a dodgeroll again dude.

Youkai shmup, it's gorgeous & fun

Sometimes I play a game looks like it comes pre-installed with the Magi operating system they had at NERV and I just clap my feet together in bliss

Padded to absolute distraction, but has very occasional glimmers of genius. Clearly well-packaged developer rooms they used to stress test enemy AI and equipment logic, but as a big MGS1 fan, it showcases why that game is so incredibly fun to poke around with & traumatise Genome Soldiers.
