It's fun if you turn off reflex mode but like, it's not really a MGS game at all
Like why is it open world, why is the plot so nonexistent, why trade in the weapon wheel for this generic 2 weapon at a time call of duty bullshit
it's metal gear solid but buckled to every single modern trend it possibly can and for that, its trash

Genuinely one of the most well-written, impactful, nail biting experiences on the face of the earth. Every single corner of this game absolutely BLEEDS style and fun, between the gameplay letting you decimate crowds of yakuza with naught but your fists to the INTENSE techno OST that keeps your blood pumping a mile a minute as you wail on people like nobody's business, the gameplay is needless to say, amazing. But the positives don't stop there. The story is genuinely nail-biting, with so, so many poignant emotional moments that it'd give even the most hard people feel a twinge of sorrow deep down. The side content is extremely fun and very rewarding as well, between karaoke, pool, darts, stock car racing, business, dancing... I have put over 300 hours into this game for a good reason. It is mind blowing.

I really wanna like this game as much as I love P4 and P5, but sadly it just feels extremely half-baked. The story is disappointingly basic until the last third of the game, but to be fair, the last little bit is amazingly well done. The gameplay is not fun in the slightest and battles on higher difficulties are more or less RNG, even with a party control mod, since there is no guard feature built into the game to negate weaknesses, meaning your party members can very easily be killed in only a handful of turns, losing you hours of progress for no input on the player's part.
