Fixes a lot of issues with base world, and then replaces them with the clutch claw. I’m really torn on the very last bosses, fatalis and alatreon being so one-shotty and having mean dps checks I dont like and dont feel right for monster hunter, but when those fights go well, not much feels better.

A great modernisation of something niche but amazing, however sometimes the ambition can circle back to being frustrating. I will never forget the pain of spending half an hour circling the coral highlands looking for legiana or even longer looking for nergigante tracks. But when the game shines, its very good, even if I despise random decorations.

This game is constantly flipping between being a masterpiece and one of the best games I’ve ever played, and fucking infuriatingly stupid. Truly a worthy sequel.

Yoko taro kicked me to the curb and spat on me, 10/10

A very very good monster hunter game, it fixed a lot of what I disliked about world, but I still prefer the old games, although I know monhun will never quite be that again.

When ffxiv expacs tell stories that are mostly self contained but do play into the overall narrative in satisfying ways you get amazing works like this. While I dont feel like the story quite hits some of the beats people hype it up to fully reach, I never felt super sad or pained. But I do love this adventure and the best villain in the game by a landslide is here

While I have to respect everything it accomplished at the time, for me at least this just does not hold up well. The controls just felt awful and like I had to actively fight the game just to walk in a straight line. It had some fun moments, especially the slide levels but a lot of it for me was more frustrating than fun.

I enjoyed it but my save was lost and I found it quite tiring to make it that far so I need a long break before I try this game again

Exploring these vibrant areas while riding monsters is fun but I didn’t enjoy the combat and the game drags a lot

Gex is a terrible tennis game

Once the steady drip feeding of content wears off all that's left is to grind turnips and fruit for bells or spend 100s of hours perfecting your island, one killed my enjoyment of the game and the other is too daunting a task.

I don't know if me liking this game is nostalgia or it actually being good, I wish I'd at least played the gamecube games for comparison

Core gameplay is still as fun as 1 in 2015, but the novelty has worn off

Lost half a star for homophobia, accidental transphobia and teddie. I wish I could give it 5 stars.

Its good, and doesn't deserve the bullying 1 elitists give it, but it doesn't quite stand up to the rest of the franchise
