This game hasn't really aged well but I feel like it has the strongest individual plot, atmosphere, mysteries and functions the best as a game out of anything in the franchise.

There are thousands of hours of content on my backlog but I can't stop playing Slay the Spire. Every time I open up Steam I feel compelled to play this game, as if a supernatural force is guiding my hand. I select the Ironclad and hope my plans for a Searing Blow deck will work. It doesn't. I'm killed in Act 1 elite. I decide to go for a Defect Run instead. My Frost Defragment Glacier Apotheosis themed deck makes it to Act 3 then dies to the Time Eater. I queue up another run, this time as the Watcher. It's been a while since I've played her, right? Hours have flown by, my plans for the day, gone. This is a call for help. I need to stop playing Slay the Spire

The true moral dilemma of this game isn't whether you choose follow Jonathan into Order or Walter into Chaos. Rather, it's whether you have the restraint to not destroy the game's difficulty curve by dumping all of Flynn's level up bonuses into Magic.
