Top 20 games of all time

My top 20 favourite games I've ever played

Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
Masterful from start to finish. Can feel a bit slow at times but the fact that it was so long really made me care about the characters, plus I adored the story to no ends. I don't think it's an overreaction to say that this game changed the way I see life, and that's pure thanks to the protagonist Arthur Morgan.

1

Batman: Arkham City
Batman: Arkham City
Best superhero game ever made bar none. Arkham City was everything I ever wanted from a superhero game and then some. Again it's just an incredible story

2

Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2
No other horror game really comes close to SH2. It's a masterpiece and really revolutionized horror, even more so than the first game in the series, and that’s a hard task to accomplish. If you haven’t played this game, I pity you.

3

Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4
Best Resident Evil ever made. This game simply did action, terror, comedy and difficulty perfectly. Not the scariest game in the world but it isn't meant to be.

4

Titanfall 2
Titanfall 2
Arguably the best FPS game ever made. Titan's are so awesome to use. It's insane to me how they made this amazing sequel from a pretty bog standard first installment. I hope and pray for a third game in the series one day

5

Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Best game in the COD series bar none, and the only one that I'd have any near this list. Again it's just pure nostalgia talking but I adore this game. From a great campaign to an absurdly fun multiplayer. Zombies was pretty good too

6

Star Wars: Battlefront II
Star Wars: Battlefront II
Maybe it's just the nostalgia speaking but this game is a masterpiece. There are barely any flaws if any. Not balanced at all but it isn't meant to be. This game just has a special place in my heart

7

Minecraft
Minecraft
Quite a small title not many people have heard of this one. I just remember many nights with my friends building incredible worlds up. Miss it

8

Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village
I love this game, it really took me by surprise. I didn't think they could possibly top Biohazard but they actually did it. The story of Ethan Winters, whilst maybe not too interesting to others really captivated me, and even though his story may be over, it looks like Rose's is just about to begin, which I love the thought of

9

Red Dead Redemption
Red Dead Redemption
To me the Red Dead series is Rockstar at their absolute best. This beast is truly overshadowed. Also very nostalgic for me personally

10

The Simpsons: Hit & Run
The Simpsons: Hit & Run
God I have such nostalgia for this classic. GTA but PG. You can be a complete asshole and no one even bats an eyelid

11

Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2
A case of a perfect sequel in many cases. It had nothing to build upon given how mediocre the first game was. The humour never dries up and overall it's just a good and hilarious game

12

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Incredible game that set the premise for the Arkham series. Not the best in the series imo but an absolute masterpiece non the less. Really revolutionized the superhero gaming genre as we know it. I dislike the titan stuff so much yet love the Scarecrow encounters and other horror elements so much as they are done so damn well

13

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
What an incredible game. I really did not expect this to be as amazing as it was when it went into it. Actually one of the best superhero games ever made

14

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
A true masterpiece of the RPG genre. The characters and universe live in my head rent free. Not to mention the phenomenal storytelling.

15

BioShock Infinite
BioShock Infinite
Infinite is very underrated. It's basically if Christopher Nolan wrote a video game and despite what some people would have you believe that's no bad thing. With fleshed out characters and a convoluted story it's very underrated. If you understand it then chances are you'll agree, but it's one of those where it is very difficult to understand. Also Burial at Sea is one of my favourite DLC I've ever played so see that how you will.

16

Battlefield 1
Battlefield 1
The aesthetic that this game has to offer is like no other. You actually feel like you're in a war it's insane. Well probably not but it's definitely the closest a game has come to recreating it.

17

Silent Hill 3
Silent Hill 3
The fact that this game doesn't get as much love as it's predecessor is honestly a crime. Whilst it isn't quite SH2 it's still amazing. Cheryl is my favourite character and protagonist in the entire series, also one of my favourite characters of all time if I’m honest.

18

Halo: Reach
Halo: Reach
Such an underrated game. Incredible campaign and a great multiplayer that really went under the radar. 100% my favourite game in the Halo series. The ending still gets me to this day :(

19

BioShock 2
BioShock 2
I liked BioShock 1 but for me 2 is such a step up in terms of storytelling and almost everything else. Such an underrated gem.
