60 characters?!?! Like 30 stages?!?! Tag combos and throws galore, shit tons of unique outros. Super expensive pre render cutscenes for everyone. Loads of customisation. Changeable music tracks. This game has it all and yet failed hurts me so much cause it's also imo a lot prettier than t7. I've had the highest sugar rush each time I play this and I only wish to more. The only reason it's shy of the 5/5 is to battle online they baked in delay to the games engine even offline which hurts. It's noticeable when U play any other Tekken but it can't help be one of my favourites still

Y'all want the most crazy fun full of options no comprising combat set in a wonderfully authentic Japanese setting full of minute details accompanied by accurate history all sandwiched in between a gripping Yakuza drama which is equally light hearted and engaging? Also tons of fucking bonus shit to do like bowling and getting a chicken for a manager which you then can manage real estate with. Or waste all the money going to the arcade, karaoke, drinking, betting on women wrestling or slot car racing. Not to mention the extraordinary number of the sub stories. Play the fucking games bro. It's a blast

Brandon's small nitpicks. Why the forced walking sections that serve no purpose and some odd pacing issues and text shit to get by.

Wait till it's patched. By then it'll be worth it's asking price. Extras like the master book, screenplays for all games and the different versions are great for Mgs fans even though it may be crap that you have to download the different versions and a lot of stuff isn't on the disc at all/cartridge even worse. Comparison to how these games were ported on PS3. Those titles on PS3 in terms of their polish and port quality is a 5/5 compared to this. This is the first time I've noticed actual bugs and blemishes on any port apprently the hd collection had a small number but none ever detrimental or negatively affecting unlike this. Mgs1 is bilinear filtering upsampled so it actually looks blurryier than how you remember it. And it also has audio cracking:(. Mgs2 alert phases bugged a lot for me and mgs3 rain got messed up are the highlights for me. It's playable if not the most inferior way to play these games right now as of launch release date

Far overhated but not super underrated. I felt Mildly indifferent as a kid about this new direction and an argument can be made of using the banjo Kazooie ip was the right choice or not but to be honest this change isn't that hard of a betrayal. The vehicle customisation is actually quite fun with a sprinkle of depth. Including some particular levels odferi unique challenges with the vehicles. Rares writing and wi is still here although not the best but still very enjoyable. I feel like the level and hub level implementation is a little lost in focus given that there's just multiple doors to unlock giving you the same level but with missions spawned at different locations. Feels a litttllleee rushed for a number of reasons. There was a deadline to meet and hearing what this game was gonna be originally in retrospect sounded a lot cooler but to be honest this is a harmless title bigger down by a bit of tedium, poor performance and mediocrity. But there a little gold star here for effort by delivering decent hub world with secrets to find, good grant kirkhope score and some fun in certain bosses makes it worth a visit given its small inspired to tear of the kingdom

Man. This is up there. Oh the resident evil level design tweaked to have modern sensibilities. Qol with the map and crafting ammo. There's a fantastic blend of old with new. It feels suitably retro and clever with great control and graphics makes it a truly tense puzzler/light action game. Combat is weak and basic but there is a high-tension and satisfying engagement to it all. Shooting a knee or a head to stun and run feel exhilarating. Just as much when it comes to parking your shotgun point blank as it can be right before you get grabbed so you can pop zombies head open and watch as the gore model delights and disgusts you as you shake the body of your fallen enemy of yourself. This end of re instead of the action side of things like 4-6, where the big appeal is exploration planning your route and strategically spending resources when and where you feel like it bests suits you with the addition of panic inducing decisions of wasting a knife or grenda to get an enemy of you or running a complete different path to get me X off you. Btw is the best implementation of a stalker character in any game. Sound design of his steps make the fear near and strong. Honestly there's a heap to enjoy about this game. Nearly all original post game content is intact with fun bonuses to be found and a great deal of polish make this a must damn play. It gets shy of a 5 as it's paced really well only has like maybe an hour of stink sewers in the middle that are admittingly a little lame but this games length can be anywhere from 10 -1 meaning it's a very minor issue if anything but a nitpick for some. One of my favourite things about all this is that it does not replace the original in anyway but instead offer its own unique take as an entire separate experience

The game doesn't need a remake. It really didn't. The rumours of this even becoming a reality brought more caution and dread? Than I initially ever thought it could after all resident evil 2 was great and although 3 was a bit of an after thought it was later bad water after resident evil 8 came out and that was great. Yet despite all that. It delivered. It fucking delivers with a roundhouse kick of love. This is simply one of the best examples of a remake over ever witnessed. The amount of respect. The amount of sheer love that's been put into this making it feel like a genuine love letter to the original becoming a tribute almost at times. While it exactly injects so much of its own ideas and originality is probably the most incredible feat of this remake. The original re4 brought such a troubled development making so many different games been reworked from many different ideas and being so long for so many years after many different iterations and cancellations spending so much money series creator Shinji mikami put his foot down and basically started the final creation himself. He felt with all the attempts at horror in the previous game a change needed to happen. He's said it in interviews that it only really felt natural. Shifting the camera to a 3rd person perspective. He didn't think it'd would leave such a generational impact. But it truly did. It's incredibly hard to understand the importance of this change for not just resident evil. But gaming as a whole. Last of us. God of war. Uncharted. Dead space. These are just of a few examples where the creators themselves deliberately call out re4 as their main Inspiration for one of their key pillars in those titles. It's felt to this day. But it wasn't just the camera that made it such a big change. It was a large numerous reworks that makes this title from 2005 still incredibly unique. Switching the challenge and horror to the responsibility of the players aim. Boom. Right there but not only that, the enemies as well have multiple interact points either it be the legs for a trip or stun, arms to disarm their weapons or the head (later legs too;) for a melee attack. This melee attack adds such risk and reward as once you land this headshot you need to run in close and press the context sensitive button to perform a roundhouse applying a huge amount of damage and area of effect all while the game gives you a surplus of I.e frames as reward. Along with saving ammo of course. One of the other most crucial factors of re4s unique game design is that killing is now encouraged as everything that lives can drop either money or ammo which also further encourages exploration. Treasures are added into the mix along with saving certain treasures to combine with complete parts to increase their value. Which you can also do with permanent health upgrades which can add to a high level of risk and reward. And the coolest part about all this currency is the fact everything you have can be sold. Including ammo. All to buy guns and upgrades that can suit many of different playstyles. Tie this with incredibly varied and plentiful set pieces. Constantly unique level design with different arenas. Memorable cheesey moments in the story(to which mikami wrote in two weeks as he put gameplay first) and unique atmosphere makes this character of a game test the time of today.

NOW FOR THE ACTUAL REMAKE REVIEW.
So mechanically straight away this puts it to shame. But it's also not to say it's the better game as a lot of the greatest strengths of this game is built upon such a legendary foundation. But that being said the game and directors knew that it would not be possible to bring such an influence to the medium like the original did. Instead they were more interested in making more logical changes to the story and gameplay. There's a lot that is cut but equally either replaced with something new or changed. In a smart way. The new knife implementation where it has now a health meter is only complimented by how much utility it has. Stealth kills, getting out of grabs. Finishers. Melee attacks And best of Parry's. Each coming with their cost of health correspondence to the level of execution and situation you use them In. Parry's cost the least health and perfect Parry's use even less while opening up melee. Getting grabbed and using the knife to break free uses a lot on the other hand as it's more of a punishment to the player that can be rectified by the sacrifice of a larger amount of the knifes health being depleted. This single change alone made this a 10. Yet the game of course goes a lot further than that which I don't wanna spoil all. The story isn't a b movie anymore yet it's still retains all the cheesey one liners and infact Leon has like a hidden battle ranking with the dialogue he spits in encounters depending on how well you do. The characters are more believabke as they talk like human beings while still being Capcom cartoons in the right charasmatic way. Absolutely massive changes to the arrangements of levels and even unique levels and locations along with complete different puzzles that were never in the original. Exploration being heavily expanded upon. More unlockables. New treasure mechanics were nearly every treasure can take a mixture of circle and square gemstones with different combinations of colours or patterns make this a strategy than can have you put a lot more thought into your currency. More upgrades at the merchant. Unique weapons like the bolt Thrower completely silent. Unique chapter discounts. The list goes on and on. It's actually crazy how extensive the changes are and yet a lot of those re4 locales and story moments still happen. The game will make you go ahhh at the little and largest of changes to those moments you remember and while leaving some completely untouched while with those modern tweaks or outright cut for something arguably better in most cases. It subverting and meeting expectations in possibly one of the best experiences I've had in a modern game to date. And while although these changes sound like it makes the game easier. It doesn't. I'd argues weapons are intially weaker here than the original as the og title would have you not move when you aim for a very stop and pop action and it suited that games enemy design as most enemies moved slowly. But now you can run in any direction and move while aiming but the game makes it far more aggressive for it. Weakening the stun in weapons so melee isn't guaranteed and having more traps and smart+ faster enemies balance it all out. Gives that perfect Parry it's enticing difficulty curve too. Oh I should also mention this game managed to add in actual side quests?? All while making it the same length as the original which is astounding. It's 16-22 hour campaign on first playthrough trying to do as much as you can is quite the treat especially considering how it's never boring nor repetitive. Even after playing the original given that a lot of the arenas themselves are changed rather commonly and distinctively while the combat is so greatly expanded upon. There's still so much to talk upon but it's really the closest resident evil has to its own Zelda. The length, variety, secrets, puzzles and playstyles this game can provides along with its absolute priority to replay value makes this an absolute must buy. Like right now.

That being said two nitpick complaints one that doesn't matter to much and the other is like 3 minutes of the game that's only a little lame. Ada's vo is from the welcome to racoon city movie and while she definitely did a fine enough job there. Her voice sounds like there is zero emotion or care at all. Like a one take deal. Which is a shame cause her design slaps so hard and there's far more conversation in this ranked than og. Goes with the entire story actually feeling complete and fleshed out now but it's also a mild shame it feels like Ada doesn't really care for Leon bit oh well minor nitpick. Last one is there's a forced walking section near the end that goes. Reeeerallllllyyyyyy dang slow. But it's placed near the end so it doesn't feel as intrusive as any other game that does it?? But it's actually still lame it's a resident evil at all especially when the game wants you to speedrun it can feel like a drag. But that does it for those complaints that really actually don't matter at all what are you doing go play it now please god knows I want to right now. 3 playthroughs and counting it's not even been out for a week;)

Y'all have a fair rating. Game design is pretty basic and a bit repetitive. But the length is very justifiably short. Really adorable that the x360 box art is the only one where Homer is happy implying it's the definitive release as every other version has him getting screwed over. Humour is great. The plot is fairly original and had some great satire on the medium. On a whole the game uses its script in a effective manner. All the voice cast are great. Fair amount of levels and collectibles. The cliches are funny. It's a solid time if just unfortunately very mundane to actual play. But everything around the gameplay is charming

One of da best 3/5 games Eva made. Ona good day I would feel like giving it a .5 more or if extra happy another point but the games just doesn't quite hit it. The polish is the most noticeable thing from animation to game design in combat to lack of content to bugs and so on. The game can feel very cheap at times but I must say this is my favourite souls like ever tbh. So many options in combat although they arguably take too long to acquire and for some reason new game + doesn't give them to you kinda making it one of the worse new game + ever. The game is very endearing to me however. It's a mish mash of so many ideas and not all of them are implemented especially great at all but I find the combination of dark souls like combat with sekiro parrying and uncharted combat with wall running. No way point map that you need to read your self. Lots of side stuff to find decent enough story with some good set pieces with the ips force abilities make it a unique and rough experience that I can help but adore a little

As a vr game it's a 4/5. Easily the spooky factor makes it a much more appealing game. Otherwise it's a very solid 3.5. Feels like a testing ground for both the new camera and engine. They really have a lot of character and cute references to horror and pop culture in this it's a treat. It does now in retrospect feel like it's holding itself back only to take it's time setting new ground work for the generation of resident evil which all makes sense. Forced walky sections slooowwww opening and game play although very replayable is rather "safe" with of course it's unique resident evil isms. Solid spookefest tho. Very tense rich atmosphere and above all else incredibly memorable. One of the true next gen horror games I've ever played and one of the best 8th gen games I've played

Sequel that brought a heap man. Basically made the template of what the future forzas would be. The immediate 60fps bump and hd ness of going next gen made it a really smooth welcoming. Progression is leagues better and faster than the previous entry. Although the tracks are still limited it does get repetitive a little quickly as there isn't much variety within tracks. Car selection got a bump and the upgrade system while still not quite polished or balanced is definitely massively improved. It's gotta bit more character and the qol is definitely one I wouldn't turn down maybe beating one day. Good job turn 10. I know what's coming next and it's about to be a happy future. Also again no completion I'm not grinding for 80 hours to get all races done especially when it repeated many tracks. Got to level 20 and done

Still really dang good. There's just some more tediousness? And other mildly frustrating qualities but like the highs are still quite high. I enjoy the extra mechanical addition but I feel like it can be implemented a little better as some cases here and there feel a little illogical with its use. There's far more variety in how a case plays out. A few twists aren't satisfying but there are others that are really dang good. Definitely a touch weaker then the og and not quite as memorable but still definitely a must for any one playing these funny games

Solid platformer. Beautiful variety. Not super ground breaking but consistently great levels back to back. Honestly just a safe good time with fun ideas

X ray is revolutionary man. I remember reading the hype around the new mortal Kombat thing and it is absolutely a perfect fit for the ip. Finally adding a gauge to the series. But holy shit the story is weak. Entertaining but weak. Combat is stiff but fast. Not a lot of experimentation but fun. Overall a fun title that definitely directed the series path forward for better and worse

A very large improvement over the first. So many cars holy hell. Like brands from all over the world divided into different cities for you to visit each with its own theme. It's cool as hell seeing the level of detail put into just the cars descriptions and getting to compare the difference in prices between regions. Each car brands have brand specific races as well. Getting to see tons of concept cars as well to buy is cool as hell from a game in 1999. Yamauchi wanted players to have wide selection of cars to buy from. Anything inbetween cars you might already own, looking to buy or dream stuff that's never obtainable. And man the driving is heavily improved. Tons more tracks and races as well. Even if they got rid of qualifications and the economy is a little exploitable and some races the ai outright cheat by having cars over th power limit. It's still a bit improvement over the original. A really damn good time worth a try also the discs are scented like a pit lane
