Using the 3 best gameplay styles of the first game did it so many favors.
And in general the level design is great and really fun.
The final boss is actually masterful.
For as much hate as 3D Sonic can get.
This is better than almost all 2D games lmao (Mania is better tho).

The foundation of FE moving forward.
And a very good one at that.
Very fun overall, even if the hit rates can be low as fuck.
Zephiel did nothing wrong.

The only acceptable game with first game syndrome.

Very fun for its short duration, and very charming too.
Funny how its a flash game made into a console one, and it stuck the landing very well.

When the remake is worse than the original, but still good.

I played both the GC and Trilogy version of this game.
Spent years hearing people say this is a masterpiece and one of the best games of all time, a work of art and the like.
And surprise surprise.
I agree.
Its the first game that was hyped to this degree for me that it delivered as much as it was praised.
The transition to 3D took 8 years for Metroid, and hearing how awful the development cycle was for this game, it is so amazing to see this game be as incredible as it is because the devs were able to overcome all of that shit (which should've NEVER happened in the first place) and create one of gaming's best masterpieces.
The OST is so amazing, like its incredible how good the composition is for both the atmosphere, and to listen outside of it (Phendrana Drifts my beloved).
Adding the hint system was so great, and even moreso making it optional, and I think for this game, it works for it to be there as an option.
The level design is so good and the area design is very memorable, Tallon overworld, Frigate Orpheon, Chozo Ruins, Magmor Caverns, Phendrana Drifts, Phazon Mines and Impact Crater are all very memorable and fun to traverse and explore.
The boss design is really great for the main bosses.
Parasite Queen, Flahgraa, Thardus, Omega Pirate, Meta Ridley and Metroid Prime are all very memorable as bosses and stand out a lot.
A shame the sub bosses suck, but oh well, you win some, you lose some.
Anyways, this game's masterful and a must play.
GC, Trilogy, Remastered.
Whatever the version, its an incredible game.

The fact 2 of the best Metroid games came out on the same day is INSANE.
I got spoiled on every SA-X location except one, and that one part REALLY left a mark, yeah this game knows how to give you dread (there's no better word, sorry), and creep you out.
As someone who loves linearity, this game's incesant efforts to make you go 1 path are much to my liking, and really stuck the landing.
One of those must play.

People hyped this game as one of, if not the best FE game.
This is mid.
Map design for the first half of Eliwood / Hector mode is not good at all, and Lyn mode being unskippable tutorial as ass garbage, the characters are charming, and the story works well enough, but GOOD LUCK GETTING THOSE CHARACTER INTERACTIONS ON THE GBA SUPPORT SYSTEM, 3 convos per map if you UBER turtle, did not get fixed from Binding Blade, so on a game with worse map design you need better writing to make up for it, but its gotta be hidden, also 5 convos per character lol, lmao.
This is one of those cases of hype backfiring, and its not the worst one for me, but still, it has great maps after CH 21 or so, and and the like, so its not bad, just medriocre.

This game rules.
Huge improvement over the first game, making weapon ranks bearable, level design and bosses are overall better, relacing the spear for the chain rod was a great choice, and making it NOT MISSABLE even better.
Some room for improvement, but that'll be tackled by the sequel, but this one's for the ages, amazing game overall.

So, this worked well as a transition to 3D, and still to this day I can say its good or great.
However half of the game is amazing, 1/3 is good or works, and 1/6 is garbage.
Sonic, Knuckles and Gamma's campaigns are really good in gameplay and very fun to traverse, and story wise, they're charming enough, except Gamma's, which is surprisingly great, and doing it last was a really great experience, glad these 3 came back on Adventure 2.
Now Tails is just speedrun with flying, but it feels boring normally because it boils down to the same as before, and in general it doesn't change things for the better much.
Big's the big meme that it SUCKS AND ITS SO GARBAGE, but it was fine.
For a fishing type game, this is OK, like its not interesting, but its not bad, it works well enough.
Now Amy's campaign I have beef with, slow character, chased down, level design isn't great, so yeah, this one's the worst.
That final story tho, Perfect Chaos is an amazing final boss and good reward for getting to the end.
Its a good game overall, just defo has aged.

Very short and sweet.
The 5th stage boss is annoying, but otherwise this is very fun to go through, and pretty easy, so can work very well as a begginer game.

Janky as FUCK, but in a very funny way, this is one of those where the code is held by sticks and glue, but its so funny that I don't mind.
Also final boss is incredible.

This game fucks.
Pretty intuitive for exploration except for one part.
The chozo statues telling you where to go helps a ton for my linearity and easy to get lost brain, while not detracting from the exploration sense, adding power ups like the speed boost to it and making it fit so well with the level design is awesome.
While bosses are a thing that shall not be mentioned, the rest of it is so good, and the OST also is very good.
Slightly prefer Fusion, but omg, this game's so awesome.

Pretty great time all around.
As a metroidvania its prob not that good, but I don't like them except for Metroid, so this ended up being a great time for me.
Very simple for one, but that's what Kirby's about so it lands, and the ability to call 3 other ones at any time works really well.
