Great color patch!!! Makes an already great looking game look even better imo!!! When it comes to SML2 stuff, I think the theming for each zone is fantastic and really creative, a pretty big deviation from every other Mario game. Love the level art + the design's of the enemies, simply fantastic. Music is solid too, though I don't think it's a major standout.

Now when it comes to gameplay, I found most levels to be quite same-y? There are a few standouts where the lvl design is really different and that's great, but with so few levels in the game I'd hope that each one would stand out gameplay wise (they standout artistically though ofc, just the actual gameplay really doesn't differ which I find repetitive).

Also I find Wario Castle to be really rough (actually haven't beat it at the time of this review lmao), like a huge step up in difficulty from the rest of the game. But this is a "I'm bad at 2d platformers Skill Issue moment" so it ain't effecting my view of the game at all, just something I wanted to bring up cause I found it funny or something idk.

This is a fun charming game that I'd recommend to anyone for a happy fun time :)

Really great patch!!! I didn't grow up with GB Tetris so the QoL features are greatly appreciated. This is probably more an issue with the GBC controls but the one minor gripe I have is that I find it too easy to accidentally hard drop, but then this could just be me not being careful enough. Wouldn't say this detracts from my preferred way of playing Tetris though!!!

My first Mr Driller game :))) It's so addicting I can't put it down. Such a DNJ coded game!!!! Can't help but say "Mr Drilleeeer" in a high pitch voice whenever I play he's just so cute aaaah. Looks great on my modded GBC screen, really pretty colors (like a lot of the GBC library tbh)

Aside from the Music & Cute Art for the game, don't think I enjoyed this all too much. Level design and enemy placement felt extremely random. The main form of dealing with problems just being suck the enemy up and blow them out. Repeat. Wasn't all that engaging. It may just be the lack of the copy ability that's getting to me. Cute Game, would recommend just cause it's so short but there really isn't much too it (which is totally fine, I've just played other GB games just as short which I've enjoyed much more).

Moai Jumpscare ahhh!?? 🗿🗿🗿 I had a fun time, the recolor really updated the visuals of a game I'm not sure I would've played otherwise. For standard SM Land stuff, they were definitely still figuring out how to design a full Mario game for the gameboy, but what they have here isn't bad, fun albeit a bit rough. I think the level design was fine until we got to Super Moai Land, so I'm not gonna comment on it. Do feel like I was fighting the controls a bit, they're certainly very stiff compared to any other Mario game I've played. Music was good :) Idk this was a fun cheery time, will probs come back and play every once and awhile and also give Luigi a go.

Shelving at the start of World 3, the New Soup games may not be for me even if they're still quality games. Gonna be giving New Soup DS ago sometime soon though, may come back to Wii eventually :)

I don't remember the story, since it's been ~1.5k hours since I've gone through it, but the gameplay is peak. Been speedrunning for so long and the only reason why is that there is so much to improve and get better at. Game is pretty simple when playing it casual but becomes such a tight and complex game when you start delving deeper into. Highly recommend for both casual players and those who want to get into speedrunning and don't know where to start :)

I don't get it. Like if I played it on mobile, sure, actually somewhat fun time killer game but on PC??? Where I played it. Where there are infinitely better time killer games. I don't get it.

Still playing this game, the ultimate stop playing for a few months then grind for a bit before shelving again game for me. For actual review type stuff, love the gameplay, infinite ability to improve yada yada. Love the characterization for each of the 9 mercs. Don't hear it that often, but the music/themes/sound clips (idk) in this game are phenomenal. Love how everything sounds. Great timeless game :) will continue to play

I have finished this game, just not recently, like back in 2014. BUT I did replay it back in September 2023 and it. Became. My. Life. Something about this game just vibed with me so hard that I could not put it down at all. I played through Old World Blues and Honest Hearts, and made it very close to the final big fight in The Yes Man ending but didn't end up doing it. I completed almost every side quest that I could in the main game? So even though I didn't finish the game, I played a lot :) I do have some criticisms, like combat wasn't that good even if I enjoyed it a lot oh and The Boomers suck (I wiped them out). That's it I guess. I enjoyed the story, characters (- Boomers), side quests (few stinkers but that's to be expected when there are so many), world was fun even if it can feel a bit same'y at times. Good game, great game even :)))) (this review sucks lmao im just putting words on the screen, monkey on type writer moment right here)

It's too Slow!!! That was the general feeling I had while playing through this game. Battle after battle after battle, there are way too many mandatory fights in this game and when they all take forever cause the 3d battle animations are so slow this game starts to become a slog. Now this isn't to say I didn't enjoy plenty of the fights, they certainly made me use aspects of the pokemon battle system I never engaged with before and that's a plus in my books.

Aside from this aspect of the gameplay, I generally felt like the setting wasn't all too engaging, much less so compared to the mainline games. I did enjoy the locations, but it was all very surface level, not much world building to delve into. The general plot was even more nonsensical then mainline, this was truly an "evil org wants to take over the world and we must stop them" moment.

Music was a major plus in this game, minus The Under theme (ears bleeding). I enjoyed every battle theme and almost every location theme. The only critique I'd have is one of the battle themes seems like it got used way too much?? Maybe having 1 more b.theme could have really added some variety to the music.

The game was good, I enjoyed my time. May replay in the future, we'll see (this is actually my 2nd attempt playing, so it had enough for me too come back to). Something about old jrpgs (does this count as a jrpg?) that I can infinitely replay no matter how iffy I feel about em (looking at you SMT1). 6.5/10 this out of 5 rating system is too limiting.

I've been replaying this game every year since my first playthrough back in 2014, and now I speedrun it! While casually the gameplay isn't the most indepth thing in the world it's still always fun and engaging to me. Speedrun wise, things are quite a bit more complicated and I've begun to appreciate many of the mechanics in this game a whole lot more. Ofc I love everything outside of the gameplay as well, story, characters, dialogue, and especially the music are fantastic and the game's artstyle has charmed me like no other. This is a game that I'll continue to play & replay for ages to come. It is my favorite game afterall.

Haven't played this since 2015. Was my first Zelda game and I remember (have a feeling) everything being really solid, and for a younger me was a very fun introduction to the series. Will update when I eventually replay this game, next time emulating it.

Not much of a review since it has been a few years since I last played, but great game. Loved the music, art direction (maybe og is better, will be what I play when I replay WW), gameplay, and characters/story were fun. While having some tedious parts I'd still call this my favorite Zelda game out of the ones I've played so far.

While story & character wise I wasn't very attached to anything, the gameplay was extremely solid and was always a fun time while I played. This was the 3rd Zelda I've completed, first 2 being WWHD & A Link Between Worlds and I'd say this game stands right a long side them in quality, atleast when it comes to really fun gameplay and great music.
