As someone who had a lot of issues with the first, this doesn't really shake things up massively but is a clear and thoughtful improvement in every way I wanted. A great sequel and probably the best jrpg we'll get this year.

Fun ass time. Has some great ideas and improves on a lot of things that have bugged me about Monster Hunter for years. I can't truly recommend this to most people yet, the performance is just awful and there's a few balance issues. With future updates and patches this game has a lot of potential.

It is absolutely insane to me that we've started this year off with two shadow drops that fuck so hard

Long story short I recently spent a few days in the hospital which has made for a pretty poor start to the year, but the timing of this release really could not of been better in that regard. I binged this game hard and it helped me through a lot of the pain (everything is okay now) and for that I'll always remember this fondly. Even typing this I'm getting ready to start a second playthrough. I was worried about this game from all the pre release information but the moment the opening started playing all that doubt washed away. The story is a bit of a misstep but it looks and plays so wonderfully and the cast is as fun and colorful as everything else. Not quite what I was hoping for, but just what I needed

Yeah maybe the combat could be a bit better but the vibes and soundtrack make up for it by a large margin for me. Fun time

Sadly it's not quite as good as it could've been but I think its still a very thrilling on the rails action horror and that's more than enough for me. Maybe turn auto dodge on in accessibility options however as the combat can be a bit unfair. Karen Fukuhara is cute, I hope this game gets the post launch support it deserves.

Obviously quite gorgeous but unfortunately more often than not its a real chore to play.

Sometimes you just need a super fun basic no bullshit game and Evil West does that in strides

Fuck yeah improved in every way

It's really not that good of a good game. The levels have no cohesion, its glitchy, it looks like ass... but damn was it a joy to play a fun 3D sonic game again.

I love Yoko Taro but this series feels like it's already run its course. Two sequels this year is absurd. They are still beautiful looking and sounding but they are largely the same and this one does little if anything to improve. In fact it plays much worse than Forsaken Maiden which I thought was a solid but steady improvement. Please stop it. Take a year if you're gonna make a fourth one and refine it.

Has some fun to it but playing the original for the first time before starting this was a super massive black hole downgrade of a drop in writing quality. It got some laughs out of us but as a whole it's a strange attempt at a resurgence that got about as much marketing love as NEO: TWEWY.

Bayonetta is a franchise that's always meant a lot to me. The drama surrounding the release of this has been absolutely disheartening. I lost a lot of respect for what I considered to be one of my favorite voice actresses and the way it was handled by Kamiya especially was very awful. This had quickly gone from my most anticipated game of the year (or perhaps ever really) to something I felt sick thinking about it. I wasn't sure what to do. Seeing the way Taylor muddied the waters of an important topic for personal gain, throw the new voice actress under the bus and then for the cherry on top asks people to donate to an anti-choice organization just fucking blew my mind. And then finally the previews and reviews started rolling in. Reading and hearing people talk about the game made me feel like I could finally get excited again. I was able to get it a day early and just the experience of completely ignoring the internet until I finished it was such a relief. The gameplay is refined from what I already thought was perfect for me to basically just the next level perfect. I'm a fan of all the changes and everything they keep the same. The story wasn't necessarily the direction I was anticipating but in the same vein I enjoyed it a lot more than I would of thought. Even if you're not a fan of it the gameplay alone is more than enough to keep you engaged. Genuinely such a blast to play and experience. For a franchise I once thought would be dead forever to get an entire trilogy and shine even through unfortunate controversy is not what obliviously gay thirteen year old me sitting and playing this christmas morning would of ever expected. I'm glad to of gotten to play these each at a pretty pivotol moment in my life. I wholeheartedly loved this and even as I'm writing this review I am starting up a second playthrough to explore the mechanics more thoroughly.

Jennifer Hale is a great Bayonetta.

Big improvement and expansion on an AA game I already loved that still keeps the charm. Didn't have any performance issues with my PS5.

My original review was removed. I guess my message wasn't clear enough when I told Activision/Blizzard to eat my ass.

This is a bad game made by a bad company. It is basically an update of the original (as it completely replaces it) and serves no purpose but trying to hide the rampant system of abuse taking place within the company by throwing the media coverage back onto this. I can't even call them allegations because they've been proven. . If you enjoy the game that's fine, but it is simply just a watered down form of the original that doesn't update, improve or innovate it in any meaningful way and is simply a distraction for a larger issue.

Eat my ass, Activision/Blizzard
